   Great, intimate atmosphere. Food was a bit mediocre though, not great, but not bad either. Was really looking forward to one of their signature dishes, the duck. But it wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. I hear the view is amazing if you sit outside. Unfortunately, it was raining and dark, and we sat inside instead, so couldn't comment on that.

   Very pretty, but small, restaurant in the beautiful Craftsman architectural style of the hotel. The service is okay, the people very pleasant, but the food was really disappointing, especially for all the marketing promotion it gets. We were there for our anniversary and were seated at an odd table that faced three other tables. The room is fairly small, so there weren't many, if any, alternate seating choices. We had very long waits for our food, which wasn't as stunning as the hype would suggest. We'll stay married, and we'll even return to the hotel, but we won't be returning to the restaurant. The Grill is a better choice to eat in general.

    We were just saying that the food was FABULOUS. Every single thing. Perfect for a special occasion and totally worth the money (How often can you say that?) We plan on coming back for a great dinner with out a special occasion a few times a year. Highly recommend.

    My family celebrated a special occasion and could not have been happier with our experience. The food and service were incomparable. The waiter patiently fielded questions about the menu options with aplomb. We enjoyed cocktails, wine, and even the bread service. We found the main courses to be highly inventive. My party members dined on salmon, duck, and scallops. All were superbly prepared. The atmosphere is cozy, surrounded by American Craftsman decor. The space remained quiet despite nearly all tables being occupied in our area. The dessert options are to die for, and even the coffee and cappuccinos were top notch and served at the optimum temperature, which is one of my pet peeves. The only downside of our experience was the hefty cost, but the quality of the food, drink, service, and environment came at a price. A R Valentin is a superb choice for special occasions.

    AR Valentien is well-deserving of their Michelin recognition. If you want outstanding duck, try the roasted liberty duck breast and confit leg with preserved lychee. The prime ribeye is also top-notch. Paul adds unparalleled charm and exuberance to the dining room, and we thank him and Mano for a truly wonderful evening. Looking forward to a return visit.

    Always a great experience. Attentive service without false obsequiousness. Great wine guidance from Paul. Food was fantastic except for one entree out of three - a Halibut that was overcooked. My lamb was amazing as were my daughter’s scallops. Highly recommend.

    What a culinary experience. From beginning to end the meal was amazing. We dined on Valentine’s Day. The server was so attentive and spot on. The restaurant was beautiful .     This was an outstanding evening. AR Valentien has substantially upped its game with the revisions of COVID-related restrictions. The food, the ambiance and the service were on par with the best restaurants in California. We’ll be coming back more often!

    Food needs complete updating. While ingredients seem quality, food is heavy and flavor profiles are odd. Cuisine needs a refresh by 20 years to continental fresh Californian.
