Arco Cafe is a Sardinian restaurant and fresh pasta shop on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, open since 2014. Every morning our kitchen makes nine shapes of fresh pasta from scratch — malloreddus, fregula, busa, alisanzas and more — and bakes focaccia through the day. The menu is the food of our island: pane carasau, sebada made by hand, Cannonau and Vermentino from Sardinia. Fresh pasta and housemade sauces are available to take home. Full bar, and BYO wine with a $25 corkage. In 2026 Yelp named Arco Cafe one of the Top 100 Pasta Places in the United States. Open daily 12:00pm–9:30pm at 886 Amsterdam Avenue, between 103rd and 104th Streets.

I had one of the most delicious pasta meals in ages! The service was terrific. The value of the lunch, special extraordinary. Arco is the perfect neighborhood Trattoria.

My favorite local restaurant. Only place we’ve gone to multiple times. A tried and true and the owners are lovely. The definition of what a local spot should be. Food is always delicious.

First time visit. Walking in it’s like the UWS meets The Villages in Central Florida! (Though they will admit you without grey hair!) Forget the recent Yahoo survey listing Arco as one of the best pasta restaurants in the nation. It is very good pasta but not extraordinary. Take note that one our tasty appetizers (fried artichoke)was so gigantic it dwarfed the entrees and pastas. Wine list is very well priced and very limited. Noise level is high at peak times. Seating is cramped. Service can be rushed but is well intentioned. Overall we did enjoy Arco. The food is solid and well priced. Neighborhoods need restaurants like this…just limit your expectations.

Had been here once before quite some time ago and just got around to returning as I do not live nearby and introduced this time a couple of friends. We all so enjoyed it from the cozy space to the great focaccia starter to the varied homemade pasta dishes to the chocolate lava cake to share. And a great glass of Sardinian wine to boot. My next visit will be sooner and will introduce more friends.

The sincerity of the owners is great- they are clearly trying to serve excellent food at a reasonable price but the noise level was really INTOLERABLE. Unfortunately we were sat next to two older upper west side women whose loud voices were nonstop and relentless. It invaded our tiny table space and we had to get the heck out faster than we wanted. We are both architects and were commenting on how noise mitigation application should have been done to the ceiling as a very minimum. No excuse for such crazy noise. I will only sit outside from now on.
