Ava's menu will feature inspired Italian cuisine prepared in a simple and rustic fashion. Central to our vision will be house cured salumi, fresh hand made pasta and Neapolitan pizza cooked at 900 degrees in our Italian-made Acunto pizza oven. Ingredients will be fresh, seasonal, and local whenever possible.
Ava has limited seating, reservations may be inside or outside. We attempt to accommodate special requests, please let us know what your preference may be in the "add a special request' field. However, we can't guarantee all table requests. We look forward to serving you.

    We were very surprised that the restaurant was so empty on a Monday. That being said, everything was great. Our server was friendly, giving us time to order drinks before putting in our appetizer order. He checked on us frequently to make sure we had plenty of water. Everything was great. Appetizers came and we had time to munch and talk before placing our diner order. The food was and is always good. The Chicken Parm, Eggplant Parm over mixed vegetables instead of a pasta - delicious! And no dinner there would be complete without at least one pizza - which last night had all the extra cheese requested. We'll be back soon!

    My friend and I were extremely pleased by our dining experience at Ava. We were pleasantly greeted and immediately seated and served. We ordered several dishes to try and each one was excellent. The Margarita pizza was the best we have ever had. The shrimp scampi was perfectly seasoned and delicious and the truffle ravioli portion size was perfect. I especially appreciated that we were not hurried to complete our meal by the staff and had time to enjoy our meal, conversation and wine. Also, easy parking is a plus!

    Everything about our visit at Ava today was perfect! Our server was Jacob, & he was amazing! Food, the vibes, & atmosphere were 10/10! Hostess was so sweet, I cannot recommend Ava enough!

    The food was great and the service was even better. I only have one concern. I usually tip the wait staff in cash which I did. I always give generous tips and was surprised to see I had a tip applied to my bill. Usually it is posted if the gratuity is going to be applied. Needless to say the wait person received a tip close to the equivalent to both meals.

    Terrible service. Our server took our order and never saw her again. I had bottomless mimosas for brunch and I had to wait 20-30 mins for the next one even though they have a 2 hour minimum so only ended up having 2 drinks which was a scam. The manager and hostess stood in the front dancing and talking, and we had say excuse multiple times to get their attention since the server was terrible. Super bad experience, but the food was good at least.

    Cesar was a good server who made excellent recommendations. The homemade bolognese was excellent, as was the black grouper special— both were recommended by him. It’s a little noisy in the restaurant, but the food was delightful.

    We went to Ava for a family dinner before our youngest goes back to college. Everything we got was delicious. I am vegan and they had several options for me so can’t wait to go back and try another.

    Excellent well portioned main entrees; need more fans and outdoor air circulation on outdoor patio- uncomfortably hot; service great both two glasses on table cracked and chipped - had to point out to server; need music on outdoor patio too

    We love Ava when we’re in the mood to head to Tampa or Hyde Park area. The atmosphere is always great for our mix blend family. The food usually never disappoints. Last night I wasn’t impressed with my pasta. Flavor was bland and the pasta was over cooked. This was most likely an off night. I don’t usually order pasta. I stick with pizza or dinner’s with out sauce typically. The eggplant and chicken parmigiana is nice combo as I like to share with hubby. Always have plenty leftover. My sons got the special and he’s been talking about it ever since lol he really liked it. It was a Florida lobster tail stuffed with crab. Our deserts and drinks were yummy. I asked for a special drink with Limoncello and the server said let me check if they can make it. They were able to make it and I was very happy with my drink. Hubs and BIL both had Espresso Martini’s and they were delicious. I was jealous because I selected to be good and have cappuccino for dessert lol. The Nutella dessert it so fun. Everyone needs to try it. Everyone from my sons to myself, husband and BIL all enjoyed everything. Our server was amazing! We can engage in conversations with our servers and forget they still have other people to wait on. She was busy and still made us feel like we were her only customers. Thank you for a wonderful evening and looking forward to our next visit.

    We came here for dinner and had the worst experience. Our server brought us water, asked what she could get for us, and I mentioned I needed a few minutes to look at the drink menu. She said “take your time” and never returned. We waited for 30 mins, had our cocktails picked out, apps and both entrees. We made eye contact with the server (tall blond, can’t remember her name), and she just refused to take our order. I’ve been to Ava many of times, and have never experienced anything like this. Extremely disappointed, as the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. After waiting for so long and not even being able to order a beverage, we left and got dinner elsewhere.

    Food was really good. Drinks were really good. Service was crap- had to chase down our waitress. Waited 30 min before she collected our cards to cash us out. They don’t have enough servers working to cover all the tables so everyone is running around crazy. Don’t come here if you’re starving or in a rush to eat

    Do not usually write that many reviews. THis was a recommendation from a friend, and was quite pleased that we went. Reason that im leaving the review, is that the food was very good, place had a great vibe, but the service was FANTASTIC. As we all know service has declined since Covid, but our server/bartender was awesome. She could actually handle the bar patrons and still come over to a couple of tables that are positioned in the bar that she had to take as well. She is somewhat new to the area, but was very helpful on telling us where to go after dinner! Finally an enjoyable evening from the time we sat down, till the time we left! Since service seems to be so lacking these days, i needed to mention!

    I made early reservations at 5pm to try Ava. We arrived and due to only 2 couples at the bar decided to sit a high top in bar area. The bartender was a female and had no personality, was not attentive and made the worst espresso martini. The young gentleman who brought our food over was vaping in the corner before he ran food out GROSS! I ordered pizza and only the crust was cooked it was warm dough. Whoever owns this place needs to pay attention to employees and food that goes out. Also the restroom had no Pape towels.

    Was not particularly happy with this trip to Ava. The restaurant seemed extremely loud could have been the table we were next to. Also the sauce on my benedict was spicy and it was not described as spicy on the menu. I am not afraid of spicey I think that someone was not paying attention or tasting in the kitchen. I also heard the table next to me complaining that the sauce was spicy.

    This was our first visit to Ava since the pandemic. Our first thoughts are mixed, but we will visit again to try different things. The Carciofi Fritti was very disappointing. The artichokes were essentially tasteless hunks buried in an even more tasteless thick breading with very bland aioli. On our next visit we’ll try a pizza as an appetizer. The Cavatelli al Ragu was way over sauced. My wife is sorry she allowed the waiter to talk her out of a Bolognese dish. My Veal Parmesan was the special of the day and it was outstanding. Very nicely executed. The only issue was the broccoli rabe was hard to cut, much less eat, because it was so under cooked. We ordered a nice bottle of Nero d’Avola so I didn’t try any beer. I was impressed that they have Peroni and Unholy on draft.

    Let’s talk about the food , so fresh & so good . I went with some friend and we all ordered different things , we did that to taste each others food . Omg we were not disappointed . The server was the BEST his name is Cesar . Overall a great experience . I will be coming back !

    Food was good—their pizza is excellent. Salad was also good as were the cocktails. Our server Jacob was great—very nice to our 6 yr old. We sat outside which was pretty hot but hey, it’s summer in FL. Ava is always solid—great place for the family.

    Our group of 15 went to support the Feeding Tampa Bay Restaurant Week and the food did not disappoint. The service was first rate. It was a fabulous place to bring a large group. A wonderful time was had by all.

    All food was delicious for brunch! Highly recommend spicy shrimp appetizer. Portions are big, even the avocado toast. Noisy table next to us was a bit off putting but the food made up for it. Would come back and sit outside.

    Pizza was good and bruschetta topping good but bread too thick and burned. Pasta dishes and salmon were good. You can tell us fresh but none of the flavors are something that will make me come back over and over. Outdoor dining really needs more fans and maybe a mister or something for the hot FL weather. Spray for mosquitos wouldn’t be a bad idea as I was getting bitten all thru dinner. The service was good and efficient.
