Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Ashburn
Service was good, a few reminders to use a low salt option for food were needed. Food is generally good farm to table options. Wish they had more plain without sauces.
This is our favorite place to eat for date night, taking friends and family to dinner and tasting wines.
Great location for meeting and celebrating with Friends. Food and service are excellent!
Friendly staff, definitely recommend making a reservation. My steak was slightly overcooked and my wife’s slightly under for what we ordered. Overall a good experience and do recommend.
Took way too long to be sat with a reservation. Front area was crowded and uncomfortable. Many people were waiting for tables with reservations. The wine contraptions that are used are a complete space hog on the table and in my opinion unnecessary. Ours had a leak and was dripping wine the whole time which then splashed all over the table and onto my wife’s clothes. We had to keep a glass below it.
The food took almost 40 minutes to come out. Thankfully it was still hot. I had the special which was a butternut squash ravioli with clams, scallops, and lobster. The ravioli was great and the fish was cooked well. The sauce was very thin, almost soup like. It did have good flavor though.
Overall I was disappointed with our initial service with regards to being sat and the length of time it took for our food to come out. The wine aerators look cool, but in reality they are just annoying. Just give me the freaking bottle.
Thankfully the wine is good here, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back for dinner service again.
We went early knowing it would be busy.....the noise level was awful-won't return!! Couldn't carry on a conversation with our friends. One dinner inedible- over done/ burnt- other dinners were good. Definitely not enjoyable :(
We had reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our food and service was great. The only issue we had, is for a 545pm reservation it took forever to get our food. We did not leave until well after 745/8pm. Our orders were not complicated so the time it took was significant.
Food was very low quality and I just looked at my credit card bill, and I was charged twice for the same bill.
Normally the food is good but this time it was over cooked and they forgot my Asian slaw
Great food and service
We always enjoy going to Coopers Hawk
Took a friend out for her birthday. She got the Ahi tuna and I had the Dana's parmesan -crusted Chicken. The waiter brought my fiend a chocolate covered strawberry and a truffle. All of the food was fabulous as usual. And all of the staff are terrific!
Great food as always! Service a bit slow this time.
Experience & food was very delightful! Staff is welcoming as always!! Looking forward to returning! Thank you!
I and a friend had a "bar" lunch. The server/bar tender--Josh--could not have been nicer. Both the food and wine were excellent. Overall, it was a very enjoyable afternoon.
Enjoyed the shaved brussel sprouts salad, gnocchi with butternut squash, and chocolate cake. Salads were superb. Very fresh and lemon dressing was a perfect match. I was afraid that the salad would be tough to eat, but the brussel sprouts were thinly sliced. For those who do not care for brussel sprouts, this may a game changer. Gnocchi dishes, one with shrimp and one vegetarian were delicious. For chocolate lovers, the chocolate ganache cake was to die for. Perfect ending with me meal. Ordered the salted caramel creme brûlée, but it was not thick enough. It had a pudding consistency. Some parts were almost watery. Our server was excellent. Great selection of drinks. Great time with family.
4 of us had dinner here. I ordered the filet trio. One of the filets had a huge piece of grizzle in it which I could not cut through no matter how hard I tried so I could not eat a portion of the third filet. The filets were just ok - not melt in your mouth. I was disappointed. 2 of us ordered the crab cakes which were excellent. One ordered fish but she did not finish it - not sure why and I was afraid to ask. Salads were excellent. Server was very friendly but took "forever" to bring drinks to the point where we were ready to cancel the drink order. But he managed to appear just as we were ready to cancel. Would like to have had the drinks during our dinner but ended up having to drink them during dessert. The key lime pie was to die for. Overall we enjoyed the night but I think it will try some place else next time. I guess I would recommend to others with a caveat. We have had better experiences in the past and hopefully will again in the future. Plus I think you are a bit overpriced given the food and service.
Our server, Jonathan, was terrific; liked him a lot. He was accommodating and knew how to juggle a lot of details with finesse. He got a big tip.
The reason the ratings are not stellar are that, as a pattern, the overall service delivery always misses for us. Last time it was a bloody fly on the menu, tepid soup and questionable cartilage or hairy roots in our potatoes.
This time it was having the appetizer come a mere 25 seconds before the entrees. Not good. And when the plate was handed to us, it was scalding hot on a bare hand, as if it had been directly on a stove. That was not good.
The management at Coopers Hawk needs to do better at deep, pervasive training for quality control and customer service.
Had a great lunch before picking up our monthly wine. My husband had the lunch size spaghetti and meatballs and I had the dish of the month. Mine was butternut squash ravioli topped with lobster, shrimp and scallops in a excellent lobster sauce. It was delicious. I hope they keep it on the menu for the future. My husband loved his as well.
There are so many wonderful things on the menu it’s hard to choose.
One of our favorite places, but it has a systemic issue with timely drink service. What? At a "winery"? Yes. On Saturday nights, expect 15-20 minutes to get a simple drink made and served to you.
We were seated in an area that was very cold. When we asked about getting our seating changes the staff first said that there is nothing they could do. They asked us to get off the table we originally were seated to make room for the next guests. Overall a very poor experience and poor management. A special occasion dinner destroyed. Would not recommend to anyone.
My Grouper fish was very poor, a small with limited fish meat as nd low quality for a $28 price. My wife's seabass portion was the tail side and so expensive.
Everything was great! Our server did a great job and our food was good. My steak was under cooked, but thankfully I don’t mind too much. It still tasted fine.
Victoria was great!
The food was good but the service was very slow. It took over 30 minutes for us to receive our initial drink order and appetizers.
Never a bad meal or a bad wine at Coopers Hawk Ashburn VA. I joined their wine club on day one because I recognized a good value.
Awesome ambiance, food, wine and service. Joined the wine club too and its one of least expensive club memberships with fantastic wines!
Great menu and service restaurant is a bit on the noisy side but very nice decor.
The one thing I cant stand is there very slippery floor that feels like you are on an ice skating rink.
I will be back because of wine food and service but wish they either changed floor or cleaned it or whatever needs to be done with it not sure. Even the folks working there make fun of it
Great server and food
We love this place. Food and service is exceptional. Not overpriced either.
Will was a fabulous server and made the experience fun.
Chris our waiter was amazing. He helped us select our meal and made sure we were happy all night.
Love the food and service
The food is good but the experience was just ok. We will be spending our next big anniversary somewhere else.
