When we took over The Legal Eagle, we inherited some of the glorious features, and the building really spoke to us of old-fashioned pub-grub. We looked to the old traditions of pickles, roasts, meaty joints & braises and knew we should honour our traditional lexicon of producers where possible and also allow our guests to enjoy a lighter style of dining.We make our own crisps, croqueta, our own Scotch eggs (they're really delish), and supporting our burgeoning salumi and farmhouse cheese industry with platters of cold cuts. We are smoking our own spuds and have a local vegetable grower growing to our needs ! We are crazy about beer, whiskey and gin but wine is where we started and it remains a driving force for us. We have a stellar cocktail and wine list written with love and care We have an ever so slightly more formal dining room upstairs, which is also great for events, weddings, private parties and get-togethers and hugely popular with industry folk. Can't wait to see all!

The original pub stood at No 3, South King Street, which is now part of the Shopping Centre. Don’t be disheartened by this, Sinnott’s has one of the rarest and most genuine pub atmospheres in Dublin. Until recently, it was believed that the pub was first licenced in 1840, however, new evidence shows that a licence first appeared in 1763! In 1840, the Malone family took over (no relation to Molly), and by 1850s Laurence Malone had made a deal with the Coach Office for the Enniskerry – Roundwood Coach service. Unfortunately, this service was never regarded as the most punctual one, often leaving well after the designated departure times, since both the driver and the passenger took full advantage of the pub’s hospitality.

This site has been occupied since Viking times, as we are located in the oldest region of the city in close proximity to the viking Parliament or Thingmount. In the 17th and 18th centuries the area grew to even greater importance following the construction of Trinity College and later the Irish House of Parliament (Grattan’s Parliament) across the way on College Green.The exterior is Franco-Scottish in inspiration and is unique in that it is one of Dublin’s rare examples of Scottish sandstone. The interior, which was once the main banking hall, is a stunning example of merchant power and patronage displaying an extraordinary ornate setting, stained glass ceiling, mosaic tiled floors and spectacular hand carved plasterwork and cornicing.If you ramble downstairs to the nether regions you will find the vaults.     The place itself was lovely and cocktails were nice! We only visited for the day and after seeing videos on social media we were excited to try here! However, it may be because we visited on a Sunday that the atmosphere was pretty quiet and didn’t seem to have the same vibe. This may simply be due to the day we visited, so wouldn’t say no to visiting again next time! We were sat outside and couldn’t really hear the music well either. We didn’t order any food but our review wouldn’t let us bypass the rating. The highlight of our visit was Danielle our waitress. She was absolutely amazing, so welcoming, friendly and very attentive throughout our time there. Constantly making sure we were looked after and had everything we needed. Nothing was ever too much trouble, she’s a credit to the team!
