It was my first time trying Whiskey N Rye and I was not disappointed! The food and service were amazing! The location was in the center of everything! Also, a convenient parking lot right behind the restaurant was perfect! I tried their brunch but will definitely be going back to try their dinner!

Been wanting to go here for a long time. Read/heard about Shaloubs in lots of publications (written and electronic). Have seen their products in my local markets (SLO). We arrived about 45 minutes early for our Friday, 5 pm reservation and our table was not occupied, so we were encouraged to sit down early...just in time for Happy Hour (3-5p)! You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Since we were there early-there was not much of a line (YAY!) They have three Margaritas in their dispensers. My wife had the Hibiscus version, I had the Spicy version, with a Tajjin rim. Both were delicious. They have a great happy hour menu featuring the favorites (fries, nachos, etc.) and their meats, tri tip, pork ribs, pulled pork and sausages. We deferred to the dinner menu and opted to share a plate with tri tip, pork ribs, slaw and ranch beans. Garlic bread and salsa are included. Every morsel on that tray was fantastic. The ribs were smokey and tender (not fall off the bone, but slide off the bone when you bite, tender); the tri tip was tender and juicy; the slaw was tasty and a nice break from the smokey meats. The star of the side show was the Ranch Beans-simple well seasoned, tender in a broth that I could eat anytime. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. We'll definitely come back.

Just a date night, great vibe, nice views. The only reason it wasn't 5 stars was that the plates stacked up. App, starter, entre arrived too close to each other. Otherwise service friendly and food was good, even the leftovers were excellent.
