Friendly and attentive service in pleasant surroundings, with lovely decor in the restaurant - interesting colour palette that worked really well and lifted the room above the norm. We had starters and mains, generous portions, so no room for dessert. Excellent rarebit starter and homemade fish fingers. The restaurant was not overly busy (Wednesday lunchtime) so it was a quiet and calm ambience, but I imagine it’s noisier when it’s full.

Beautiful setting, comfortable, lovely and clean. Restaurant itself was empty but lots of people outside. Menu was a bit heavy for summer but a nice range and lighter starters could become mains with sides. The Chicken Caesar Salad came with bacon not listed on the ingredients which was a happy surprise for one recipient but not the other. Service was mixed depending on the person but all were friendly. We were a party of 5 who enjoyed our evening very much and would visit again.

We had a wonderful afternoon at the Orator on Sunday. The food was delicious. I was especially impressed with the variety of food for vegans. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and all our group (7) where happy with their food and the service. I would highly recommend the Orator and we look forward to visiting again.
