We've been serving the people of Braintree and beyond since 2015 and in that time have humbly become ‘one of Essex’s best restaurants.’ We have received recognition from the AA, having been awarded an AA Rosette for ‘culinary excellence’ for five consecutive years, and then in 2023 we received our second rosette, putting the restaurant amongst the top 10 restaurants in Essex. Our food is of course one of our main focuses, but we don’t just stop there. Attentive, relaxed and friendly service is as important as the food and our objective is to make your visit an enjoyably memorable one. Our exceptional wine supplier, Peter Watts Wines (based up the road in Coggeshall) allows us to offer you delicious wines of an exceptional quality.     Had lunch here midweek with friends. Food and service both excellent. They offer a set lunch menu which is very good value although as we were only having a main course we chose from the main menu. All our food was delicious Mussels & fries, duck breast and a Middle Eastern aubergine dish.

    The food is always excellent, I had the garden plate whick has lots of different elements, yummy. My friend had fruit pancakes which ain't really my thing but I tried some anyway and they were delicious. Ambience and staff fantastic. Should be able to pay with cash and tip staff with cash. Service charge should be made obvious too.
