Great food and great service, lovely atmosphere too

The food was lovely. Steak cooked to perfection. Place itself is nice and relaxing! There was a large party came in when we were there so made it very loud. There was also entertainment which we didn’t know about We will go back

My 2nd visit to Chef Jono & this time it was for the Sunday Lunch menu. Superb in every way, as previously. The food is beyond description & the drinks pairings are sublime. Top class, friendly service from staff with great menu knowledge.

We visted The Black Horse Inn @ Kirkby Fleetham for lunch on a Thursday. The resturant and bar were both busy but not overly so. Staff - who were busy with a fair few customers dining - were friendly and welcoming and made sure that we were settled into a table which allowed our Labrador space to lie down without encroaching upon other tables/diners. Menu and wine list offered all looked (and was) good. Forgoing a starter (which all looked very tempting and appertising), we selected some traditional (pub) mains - a Chicken Parmo for my wife and a Steak & Ale Pie with a side order of Red Cabbage for myself. Both came as generous portions, with no real needs for my side, and both were absolutely delicious Food, when it arrived, was provided for a good generous portion and absolutely delicious. The generous size of our mains meant that we diecuded to forgo a dessert (although we were really tempted). Overall service was decently paced and appropriately attentive - perfect for our desired leisurely lunch. Nice to have no overbearing piped background music. All in all an absolutely delight...

We had the charcuterie board to start which was really delicious. So much food! Really enjoyed the fish and chips, and my v fussy vegetarian friend said her halloumi burger was the best she had had. Thank you!
