Honey Fitz Bar & Restaurant is named after John Francis FitzGerald who was born in Boston in 1863 to an Irish immigrant family. Fitzgerald was a Democratic U.S congressman for Massachusetts, who won two terms as mayor of Boston and helped his grandson John. F Kennedy to win his first seat in Congress in 1946. FitzGerald’s theatrical style, personal charm, charisma and penchant for breaking into song at social events earned him the nickname ‘Honey Fitz’ - his gift of the gab became known as “Fitzblarney”. Honey Fitz Bar & Restaurant celebrates the deep cultural connections between Ireland and America, fusing timeless traditions with contemporary influences.
