Our menus have something for everyone, from fish lovers to vegetarians, with an ever-changing selection of specials to reflect the best of the coast and countryside. Perfectly complemented with a great wine list and well-kept real ales and ciders. We have a cosy atmosphere, inside with an open fire in the Winter and beautiful riverside views all year round from the restaurant and our outdoor riverside tables. You can visit by road or by boat - we have moorings and a pontoon, free to use for our customers. We have been awarded One AA Rosette for our food and four Rosettes for our cosy ensuite bedrooms

The Puffing Billy is located in the beautiful village of Exton on the east side of the Exe estuary. We had a fabulous meal! The service we received was brilliant and the staff went the extra mile without us even asking! The food was delicious too! We went as a family with a baby and a young child and would definitely return!

Genuinely some of the best food I’ve had in ages—it completely blew me away. The kitchen has a massive focus on incredible local ingredients and fresh seafood, and it shows in every dish. The flavours were perfectly balanced and everything felt sophisticated without being pretentious. Unbelievably good.
