The Michelin Starred, Fordwich Arms, located in the smallest town in England, dates as far back as 1828. Draped in ivory and wisteria in the most picturesque location over looking the Great River Stour, the perfect setting for an idyllic summers lunch. Boasting open fireplaces for the colder winter months, creating a cosy and welcoming ambiance. Daniel and Natasha Smith took over The Fordwich Arms in 2017 and were awarded a Michelin Star within the first year, as well as being in the top 100 gastro pubs in the UK, multiple culinary awards, notable wine awards and various other accredits, a testament to their hair work and talent. The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers. Open Tuesday to Sunday with food served all day from noon.We now have 3 Giant heated Tipis, they provide lots of fresh air and a lovely open environment, they are also heated.Formerly an 18th Century farmhouse boasting exposed beams, oak floors, exposed brickwork and oak tables. This leads to a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere with candle lit tables and real flame stoves.The cuisine is typically modern European, classically cooked using cornerstones such as stock pots to create their sauces with a brigade that has a passion for what they do. The Dirty Habit is a beautiful 13th Century pub situated in the picturesque Kentish village of Hollingbourne. Set on The Pilgrims Way in a designated area of natural beauty, with many walks and bike rides from the pub, it has been used by pilgrims on their way to Canterbury for centuries. It is reputed that King James II stayed at the inn whilst on his way to France via Canterbury and Dover. We offer a varied selection of freshly prepared food all day every day, both traditional English as well as continental specialties using local suppliers whenever possible to support the local farming community. Can definitely recommend and would not hesitate to return. Variety of options on the main menu, although if you like your deserts you might find the choice more limited. All dishes were well presented and tasty.

Lovely food, in comfortable and friendly surroundings. It would be nice to see soup and sandwiches on the menu for a light lunch. Nevertheless the small plates and additional chips we all had, were excellent

We dined to celebrate our son’s birthday - party of 6. The waiting staff were excellent, friendly and just the right amount of attention. We chose from the main evening menu. We had a variety of dishes starters and mains all well presented and piping hot. The one comment from our party who chose steak was the choice of salad to accompany the dish didn’t really compliment the high standard of the steak. They felt it would have benefited from a more traditional accompaniment like onion rosti or mushrooms. Otherwise a superb meal.
