A self-contained dining space, Upstairs offers guests a selection of small plates from our daily-changing menu, all of which are cooked to order from an open island kitchen and designed to share.As well as being available for reservations and exclusive hires, Upstairs proudly plays host to a variety of exciting events and special evenings for our guests to enjoy; from expertly-led wine masterclasses to convivial Sunday lunches.Our aim has always been to offer our guests the opportunity to get closer to the cooking process than ever before, and with the unfaltering passion and dedication of our team, a recently (and very proudly) received Bib Gourmand Award, and the continued support of our wonderful guests, we truly see nowhere to go but up.
WC Clapham is a wine and charcuterie bar situated in an Ex Victorian Water Closet adjoined to Clapham Common tube station.Restoring the original features, the award winning design offers a quirky and intimate venue, a hidden bar offering guests rest and respite from the streets of London, perfect for date nights and catch ups with friends. The considered drinks menu has something for everyone - be that a glass from the thoughtful, simple and eclectic wine list with 30 to choose from or a delicious signature cocktail. The accompanying food offering has been created to complement the drink selection. Established in 1987, Meson Don Felipe was the first Tapas Bar in London and we are still an independent, family-run business. You can expect great tapas and some amazing, well-priced Spanish wines, served in an authentic, relaxed atmosphere. We have an outside terrace with heaters and umbrellas but of course, we can't promise the weather! La Gamba is a Spanish tapas bar and restaurant on the Southbank Centre's Festival Terrace, two minutes from Waterloo station, between the London Eye and the National Theatre. Jay Rayner in The Observer called us "the answer to that infuriating question of where can I eat before a show at the Southbank Centre", and plenty of guests do exactly that, though just as many settle in for the whole evening. The menu moves through the tapas classics and a few of our own inventions: croquetas and patatas bravas, chistorra pintxos, albóndigas with manchego, gambas al ajillo, and paellas cooked fresh at weekends. There is cold Spanish lager on tap, fresh Sangria, and a well curated list of Spanish wines. We come from the family behind Applebee's in Borough Market, and we run La Gamba the same way: good produce, cooked well, served with warmth. Our terrace is one of the nicest spots on the Southbank to lose a sunny afternoon. Walk-ins always welcome.
Bar Brasso from the team behind Darby's, is offering a diverse culinary experience throughout the day. Robin Gill has teamed up with Cibo, led by founder Vittorio Maschio, who brings ingredients straight from Italian producers to our counter. In the mornings, starting at 8am, it operates as a bakery serving fresh pastries, sourdough bagels, coffee, juices and more. At lunchtime, Bar Brasso transforms into a cafe serving fresh salads, sandwiches and comforting seasonal plates. You will also find a deli counter stocked with the finest italian cured meats, cheeses and speciality products to take home. As the day turns to evening, Bar Brasso becomes a cicchetti and tapas bar, inspired by the Venetian bacari and the vibrant food culture of San Sebastian.
