The story of St Andrews Beach Brewery dates back to the early 2000’s, when our Co-founder Andrew Purchase built the racetrack on the property for the royal family of Australian horse racing – the Freedman Brothers. When the property became available in 2015, Andrew and Michael Freedman saw an opportunity that was too good to miss. With the infrastructure in place and with a story like no other, Andrew, Michael and their passionate team of co-owners set about turning the former stables into a truly unique brewery.Before you book a stable in our one of a kind refurbished stables, please note the following; Stable bookings can seat groups from 5-36 and for a maximum of 3 hours. If you are unable to book at your preferred time all of our reserved seating is booked. Hopheads is a bar and bottle store dedicated to selling the absolute best Australian and International beers.Our original store was founded in May 2015 and stemmed from the relevant question (at the time) – ‘why aren’t there any good beer stores and bars in the west?’ Founder and beer afficionado Adrian Chong (and long suffering partner Wai Lee) were tired of having to travel across town to access quality beers, so they took it upon themselves to right this egregious wrong – and so the idea of Hopheads was born.Hopheads has since expanded to a second store in Altona, injecting some young blood into the team in the form of the somewhat magnificent Ryan Cochrane.We remain passionate about making the West-side the best-side for beer in Victoria.
