Please check in with hosts upon arrival for patio seating.Although named for the boats used to catch lobster, Smack Shack was launched as a food truck in 2010 serving lobster rolls from a land-locked downtown Minneapolis parking lot. Owner Josh Thoma had a great recipe and a belief that appetite for fresh lobster in the Twin Cities was as strong as any coastal city.Smack Shack is committed to serving sustainable seafood and is a current partner in the Minnesota Zoo’s Fish Smart program. Sustainable seafood is wild caught or farm raised seafood that has established practices to ensure the long term growth and thriving populations of seafood with limited harm to the environment.

    Had a great experience. They let us have a long uninterrupted conversation over a cocktail. Great menu variety and the food is well prepared. We had a very nice time. Prices are definitely reasonable compared to some other restaurants. Thanks Bennett's Chop and Railhouse!

    Wonderful experience! The food was delicious, actually surprisingly so- the burgers were cooked perfectly and the flavor was spot on. Candied bacon was also really good- not too sweet, and the caramelized edges were the best. Wrapped up our meal with the fried Oreos, a must have. We will definitely be back!

    Server and other staff were friendly and courteous. For our party of four, Iron Range Porchetta sandwich and Good Citizen burgers were tasty; but, Citizen Club sandwich was just OK (although the roasted turkey was good). Cheers to good cocktails & wine.

    I saw the owner on a you tube video with another chef rating restaurants in Minneapolis and decided to give his place a try. The food was outstanding as was the service. When we are in Minneapolis we will definitely go back.
