We believe that wine should represent the place from which it was grown and the four seasons that pass through that place in a given year. We showcase vignerons who grow their fruit in a thoughtful way and who guide that fruit to bottle with the gentlest hand possible. The Alps is your rifugio on Commercial Rd. Drop in for a wine, stay for pizza. We are open and pouring/cooking 7 days a week. Our style of pizza is inspired by pizza Romana. Thin crust, thoughtful and delicious toppings. The perfect partner to a delicious bottle of wine. The front bar has a few private tables as well as shared bar seating, great for enjoying the atmosphere. The courtyard is great on a sunny day and has heaters for the cold ones, and the cabin is home to a roaring fireplace for when it gets really chilly.Whilst reservations are recommended because we fill up quickly, we always keep a few tables aside for walk-ins.

At Lilac, we’ve transformed a historic warehouse into a warm, low-lit wine bar with loft-style charm and inviting character—think exposed brick, steel-framed windows, Persian rugs, and a cozy fireplace. It’s the kind of place where you can relax at plush velvet couches or gather around the back-lit bar for a drink and a bite. Our kitchen plays with wood-fire cooking, house-made charcuterie, and creative twists on nostalgic bistro favourites. From chicken-liver mousse éclairs to savoury “mince on toast,” every dish is made with seasonal, local, foraged, and fermented ingredients that speak to heart and flavour. Our beverage focus is just as thoughtfully crafted. We pour an array of biodynamic and minimal-intervention wines, alongside inventive cocktails that nod to tradition with unexpected ingredients. The aim is simple: quality, creativity, and joy in every glass.

We experienced excellent service. Particularly as our server noted my hearing aids and respectfully checked in as to whether where we were seated was ok noise wise. Will definitely be returning.

Loved sitting at the bar enjoying the activity and movement. The team here are outstanding. The service is swift, they are all knowledgable about the menu and wine, very warm and make everyone feel welcome. It’s very Melbourne in style and hospitality quality. Try the chicken - the sauce is divine - and pair it with asparagus.
