Once a grand house with a staircase mural by Sir James Thornhill, whose other works include the paintings on the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral, Sherborne House became so dilapidated that it was placed on the Heritage at Risk register. Now sensitively refurbished, it’s the town’s premier arts venue, with extensive galleries, an impressive events space and shop. Pho Bristol is a healthy Vietnamese restaurant with loads of vegan and gluten free options. We specialise in phở, the Vietnamese noodle soup and also serve delicious curries, rice dishes, wok-fried noodles, and fresh salads too. Our starters such as summer rolls and spring rolls are perfect for sharing with friends and family. We also offer an entirely gluten free dessert menu with dishes like Pandan waffles, condensed milk ice cream and a Vietnamese affogato.     Ideal spot for eating before the theatre...(would you ever consider theatre discounts??) but booking recommended. Great value, healthy, really delicious. Probably not the best for a romantic date but perfect for everything else.

    The Sherborne is a beautiful setting for a lovely evening meal ( or just drinks in the bar!) The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. The food was really good too! We’ll definitely go back

    Excellent variety of menu choices; all dishes had an added tasty quirk to them; the skinny fries were seasoned to perfection! The staff were very polite and friendly and extremely helpful and patient with our indecision. If we lived in the area it would be top of our special places to eat list. Failing that we’re recommending it to anyone we know who might be staying near Wells.
