Yalos Taverna is a Greek restaurant that celebrates how food, drink, people, and atmosphere come together. There's a word in Greek — yalos. It means the seashore. But ask anyone who grew up near one, and they'll tell you it means a lot more than that. It's where the boats come in at the end of the day, salt-crusted and tired, and where someone's already got the charcoal going before the nets are even unloaded. It's the table that somehow always fits one more chair. It's hours that disappear between the first glass of wine and the last bite of dessert, because nobody's really counting.Come for lunch. In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. A place for our community to gather and share food and drink that are crafted of the finest in-season regional ingredients. Table preference will try to be honored but can not be guaranteed.

    Such a fantastic dining experience at San Remo in Rockville Centre. A last miniute decision but worth it. Started with baked claws, very fresh and delicious. Topped off with a unique Chicken San Remo. Great food, wine and service. Ralph is always a gracious host.

    From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted warmly by both the hostess and the manager. The food was absolutely delicious. This was our third visit, and we will definitely be coming back again.

    Haviland continues to be our “go to” restaurant in our area. Great service, selection and ambiance. Started with a Dirty Bleu Martini with amazing stuffed olives… stuffed in house !!! .. plus my favorite, Pop Pops Old Fashioned. What a way to start a meal. Split a Spicy Tuna Tartar and a Butter Gem Salad.. delicious, fresh and flavorful. Mains were Veal Cavatelli with white beans, broccoli rabe and pecorino (Quite an amazing combo) … and Swordfish Spedini with Zucchini and sweet potato was simply yummy!!! Sorry, no room for dessert!! By the way, our server Amanda, as always was, as always, friendly and totally professional!!!
