The kitchen cooks nearly every dish in olive oil, with a light hand on salt and leaner cuts of meat, from the recipes of executive chef and owner Reza Parhizkaran's mother, Iran, who lives in Tehran. Tuesday to Saturday, sushi is cut to order at the bar. The $35 three-course lunch runs Monday to Friday, 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and Shiraz Social happy hour is daily, 11:30 AM to 6 PM, at bar seats. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes are marked on the dinner menu. The private room seats 40; full buyouts go up to 180.
