   I made a reservation for one but didn’t realize that a reservation didn’t necessarily reserve a table as I was asked initially to sit at the bar. I came in part for the live music but was seated all the way in the rear of the restaurant. It was beautiful and great good snd service but I had a view of a construction site and could neither see nor hear the band very well. I’ve reserved a table for my family for a birthday celebration and pray that we get far better seating for the next visit. The hostess informed me that even with a reservation there was no guarantee of getting a better seat. If there was a downfall to my visit it would be that aspect. Seems that a reservation would hold a bit more weight than a basic walk in. Nevertheless I’d go again.

   Our experience was outstanding and very memorable. The flavors in the beverages and the food were amazing and so distinct/complex. Tai our server was attentive and knowledgeable. She was very good at reading the individuals in the party. Definitely a repeatable experience and I highly recommend it

   Geraldine’s missed the mark Friday night. Our server was super busy and we would have enjoyed more attention. All of the food we ordered (potatoes, smoked carrots, short rib) were cool. The mushroom ragu was the only dish that was actually warm. It was disappointingly super salty. I doubt we’ll be back. 😕

   Absolutely amazing Hamachi crudo, to-die-for mushroom ragu, and the redfish entree was delectable. The gooey chocolate brownie a la mode was rich (so we couldn't finish it) but a perfect indulgence to top off the meal.

    Our server was pleasant and attentive and helped us make some good decisions on how to order. The ambiance was perfect for our occasion and the property is beautifully designed. Will definitely be back on a future trip to Austin!

    Food and service were phenomenal and atmosphere was great, only dinging them on the dirty chairs; there were crumbs and dried stains all over all of the chairs at our table. Otherwise everything else was wonderful!

    I came here for my birthday dinner with a few friends and as different as it was, I had a great time, my meal was good (they are small portions), and the aesthetic was very beautiful! We had an awesome server and a band was playing as well, overall I recommend !

    Came to celebrate both of our birthdays and our reservation got mixed up with another party. No acknowledgment of our celebration which is fine but the food was lacking in excitement. Overpriced brunch and not the ideal start to our celebratory day like we had hoped.

    We had brunch. Very few menu options. The food was terrible. My short rib quesadilla was so greasy and smothered in so much bbq sauce with a terrible taste, that you couldn’t taste anything else. This is what the server recommended, said it was her favorite menu item. My wife’s fried chicken sandwich was terribly cooked, the breading fell right off and tasted terrible, was served on a soggy, wet bun. We went because they had advertised a live jazz band at brunch. There was no band at all. Service was terrible as well. Waste of money and time. It was a shame.

    We had a fish dish that was excellent, and our server was attentive. However, the two side dishes we ordered were overly sauced—the brussel sprouts and the potatoes. And the “caramel-fish sauce” on the former overpowered the vegetable. Timing also was slightly off, as the potatoes came out 20 minutes before the steak dish. We appreciate the customer service shown by taking the potatoes off our bill. Last, there were just two of us, but all diners are advised the dishes are made for sharing, but, even for big eaters like us, the portions (especially the sides) were quite large so we over-ordered. The ambience is nice so with minor adjustments, this restaurant shows promise—maybe as a true tapas restaurant with smaller, less sauced offerings.

    This was my first time at Geraldine’s. The atmosphere of the jazz brunch was nice but the condition of the space was lacking. Dirty tables, cleaning supplies in public view by hostess stand, stained furniture, and a broken table didn’t make a good first impression. The food was just ok. Attentive waitstaff and nice live music, though.

    The waiter was amazing and friendly but described the dishes as tapas style - I think because they bring the dishes out when they are ready so not everyone gets a dish at the same time. However, the portion sizes were pretty large for “tapas style” so we ended up ordering more food than we needed.

    Classy joint! We had a belated valentine's dinner at this rooftop restaurant that's part of Hotel Van Zandt. Our food was delicious and our server was attentive. We had the buttermilk biscuits, cucumber salad, blackened redfish and short ribs, all on point. The coconut panna cotta was a refreshing closer. Their mixed drinks were fun and delicious if not a wee bit undersized. It's a good date spot but the bar scene looked fun for singles or small groups. Overall I'm a fan!

    Beautiful interior design and ambience in the restaurant. Great service and well designed and delicious food and cocktails. Enjoyable live music and classy atmosphere. If on vacation in Austin, I highly recommend having a dinner at Geraldine’s (best restaurant we visited on our trip)!

    Congested area due to construction. Don’t really care to valet park. Service was good. Our waiter was excellent. Food was enjoyable. Fish was very well done and my second favorite was brussels sprouts. Ambience was nice.

    Hip Austin restaurant with a dedicated elevator at a happening hotel, the Van Zandt. They have live music after 8:30 pm. The staff was helpful, and the chef has inventive twists to some classic dishes. While you can order your own dishes, the focus is on sharing plates with your group.
