The tasting menu is a delight, the chef provides a very interesting taste experience with each of the three starters and the other courses. So my delight in this restaurant is related to the food. The wines, I left this to the sommelier and took the recommendations, were all very distinctive and unusual. The only unfortunate thing about being distinctive and unusual is that the wines, except for the sparkling Beaujolais rosé, were not really approachable and I am afraid even though I tried I could not like them... for instance there was a bone dry Moscatel loaded with minerality from the experimental amphorae used that had no real hint of the delight to be found in the grape, just a palate wrenching dryness. So maybe the wines change like the food does... was I unlucky or just not sophisticated enough? One of my key hobbies is wine... there were so many I could have suggested... rarity is sometimes well earned by wines that no one really wants. I repeat the food was superb as was the setting and service! More
