The Hourglass Tavern is housed in a renovated nineteenth-century brownstone on New York's famed restaurant row. Thirty years ago, each table had a working hourglass, your dinner would take only the time it took for the sand to run down, and theatergoers wouldn't miss the curtain going up. Today, the Tavern has three intimate floors, each with its own charming personality. The hourglasses are mostly decoration, but if you have got tickets to a Broadway show, they are still used to assure that we get you there on time! 3 Course Pre-Theatre Prixe-Fixe 4pm-8pm $27.00. A la Carte & daily specials can be made into a 3 course Prix-Fixe with a $10 addition. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday 11am-3pm w/ Happy Hour priced drinks at $5 & complimentary fresh baked muffins. Bettibar is located on the second floor, offering a gamut of affordable wines, & an array of local and imported beer. The 3rd floor is available for dinner service or private events.

We love to cater! As our kitchen opens at 4 p.m. to the public, we will gladly cater any event where orders can be delivered to your location by 5 p.m.
Private party faciliteiten
Our 3rd floor dining room/lounge can seat up to 28 seated or hold 40 people as a cocktail party with buffet set up. The room has a full bar, bathroom, DVD player and Bluetooth hook up for a personal playlist. We have a variety of off menu appetizers suited to fill the masses without breaking the bank. We offer gluten free options and will tailor a menu with dietary or budgetary requirements in mind. Minimum spend requirements apply dependent on date and time of event. Please note that private events are preferred post pre-theatre (7 or 8p.m. respective of day), and arrangements can be made for afternoon cocktail events between brunch and dinner hours (3-5p.m.) on Saturdays & Sundays for the best pricing we can offer our guests. A hidden gem on Restaurant Row! Been a regular diner there for 12 years! Never a had a bad experience! Consistently excellent! A great dining experience on every level!

Lovely tavern, great service and the food was delish! Welcoming staff and owner stopped by to chat and make sure we were happy. Got us well-fed and quite happy before heading to see Westside Story and it turned out to be the last performance before Broadway shut down heeding COVID-19 warnings. I recommend the Glass Tavern!

Great service... Delicious food !!! When reading the combinations of ingredients on the menu, you wouldn’t think it would work. But ever flavor was so good. The ambiance was just too dark for me. I would still eat there again

I would recommend dining on the first floor if possible. The stairs to the third floor are very steep and it got pretty warm in that dining room too.

Salmon, quinoa, and broccoli dish was delicious service was excellent and friiendly. This is my go-to restaurant when I'm in the neighborhood.
