    Our server was very hardworking but he had too many tables to cover — he had to clear and wipe down the used tables as well as take orders from and serve new guests.

    What a treat! Three out of town guests to celebrate a b'day - and they picked the restaurant in my own town. I'd not been aware of India House - but WOW! I'll definitely be back!! Terrific and expansive menu, reasonable prices, generous portions and the taste? YUM!! We had some papadum, nan, veggie samosas, veggie korma, eggplant bharta, chicken tikka and chicken vindaloo ... first - too much food but great leftovers! and spice levels were spot on accurate! the vindaloo was EXTREME and that's how we wanted it! B'day Dessert was sharable by all and staff made a fun fuss! Dividing up the check, with tip, it was about $50 per person - and worth every penny!

    Food was excellent - we were there for the Sunday buffet. They could add more non vegetarian dishes - there were only two. Service was excellent as they noted our special occasion from our reservation and gave us a special dessert and came and wished us.

    The food is great, my family loved the food and the service is awesome too. I was visiting Chicago and this restaurant was near my hotel so I tried it but it turned out to be an amazing experience and now I would recommend it to all.

    India House has a very big menu making it hard to choose. Going with a group is great because you can order a number of dishes and share. Everything was delicious, no bad dishes. Price wise, very reasonable.

Poor service during lunch Please help yourself to the Buffet because that is the only option Don’t expect for a server to show up for drinks or à la cart It’s a Good Value for money and you can stop yourself if that’s your goal. A lot of the food is floating in oil

    Waste of money and time. Had food during weekend buffet, there was no taste in food and the quality was also not so good. In terms of variety this restaurant served cabbage and potatoes curry and only dish with traces of paneer was spinach curry with no taste. There were no plates available and many people were waiting in queues for plates to be cleaned. On top of so much of mis management there is huge delay on refilling the food.

    The food and ambience were great. Special shout out to our waiter who had a truly professional approach to table service which you don't usually see in a casual restaurant like this. Although he was not South Asian, he was knowledgeable, willing to seek information when he did not know and showed fine dining service experience. Enjoyable experience.

    The food was excellent. My spinach and lamb dish was seasoned to perfection…complex spices with just the right amount of heat. And the blueberry mojito, a happy hour special, was delicious. We had a nice window table which meant less background noise…a bonus for my bad hearing!

    The price was right for the lunchtime buffet, and there was plenty of food, including a surprize serving of tandori chicken and fresh nan. However, the food was a bit bland, probably to satisfy imagined Chicago preferences.

    Nice to see the Weekday LUNCH Buffet is back. My wife and I really enjoy this place. When I was in New Delhi I met a lady who had traveled to Chicago and she suggest I go to India House. I inform her I was a regular customer.

    Food is not worth the price. Paneer Tikka (starter) was the worst we’ve ever had. Also, chicken biryani was below average. Our server rarely ever checked on us and we had to make efforts to call the staff thrice. Because, our overall experience was a big let down, specially the service, we tipped less for obvious reasons and the waiter argued on face. We ended up tipping 20%. For the price, we had high expectations and we were let down a big time. Wouldn’t recommend this place. There are many other better restaurants in and around Chicago downtown.
