   Really delicious food and our server was knowledgeable and efficient. We ordered the steak tartare - all the flavors really worked well together. The salmon niçoise was delicious and the shrimp au poivre was equally good. Wine and cocktails were a nice complement.

   Atmosphere inside by the bar was drab and did not appear to be overly clean. Drinks were mediocre. The escargot and bone marrow was painfully disappointing. The texture of the escargot was slimy and the bone marrow was dry. It came with a croissant that was more like a burnt bread roll. Overall this place left much to be desired and was overpriced for what it was.

   First visit was very satisfying. Half price wine nite. Onion soup was delicious with a tasty gruyere topping. Salmon was excellent. The chicken cordon bleu was enjoyed as well - moist chicken inside a crunchy shell. Paired very well with the saucy lima bean/greens side

   The staff and atmosphere was very nice. The food however was poor. My friends scrabbled eggs tasted bad, there weren't any true French breakfast items, except pastries and they weren't french exceptional. The menus is mostly american.

    Our food (bone marrow/escargots, brussels sprouts; duck perly, lamb chops) was excellent, and the service was attentive and competent. The fact that they provide free valet parking, making it possible for Asheville residents to come downtown, is an incredible advantage. So what's to to like? My complaints center on the bar. First, a cocktail ordered from the rather limited list turned out, after considerable delay, to be unavailable, since the bartender couldn't find the most essential ingredient. Then a Manhattan ordered as a substitute came considerably less generous than is usual. Wines by the glass also seemed quite skimpy: diners we could see at other tables often (not always) got much more generous pours than we did. But the last straw was when I looked at the bill later and saw that a shot of bourbon ordered with dessert came, along with the charge for the bourbon itself, with an additional charge of $4 for "Neat". That is, they charged me $4 more to pour the bourbon into a glass with NOTHING else. My advice would be to stick with the food, and limit your dependence on the bar as much as possible.

    A really great experience on a cold, off-season Asheville night! The drinks were generous, the mushroom appetizer and shared caesar salad were delicious, and the shrimp special was terrific. The wine list was substantive and the service was attentively-leisurely (which is what we wanted). Will return when we're next in town.

    Great food. Excellent service. Thee tables are a little close to each other taking away some of the intimacy I had hoped for. Group getting drunk at the bar also took away from experience but overall I’d go back.

    Excellent! Everything was good – the mushrooms, the French onion, soup, the bread, the wine, the fillet, and the prime rib, and the mousse cake desert! The service was also great! We highly recommend it!

    I appreciated being able to dine out- the food tasted very fresh and delicious (grilled salmon dish). I thought the vegetable portions were unnecessarily small, esp for the price. Their shrimp and grits, which a friend ordered, was more robust.

    Our service was exceptional! But unfortunately the food and ambience were not as lovely. The food is average, no WOW factor! And unfortunately it feels like a hotel restaurant. I wanted to LOVE IT! The Main Street entrance is so charming and enchanted but that sweet Paris Cafe vibe is lost once inside. I cannot say enough about our server Matt! He rocked!

    Very nice date night at Isa’s French Bistro! We dined during restaurant week and my husband tried the special menu with wine pairing. Nice wine list. I ordered the lamb chops off their main menu. I thought my lamb chops were very good flavor, but a little over done. (They were recommended to order medium.) We had the cheesecake for dessert and it was good! The restaurant is very nice! The service was great! The music was the perfect volume and not overwhelming! We would visit here again and maybe try different things on the menu.

    Our first visit to Isa's. Two couples, and two of us had the Restaurant Week Special and two ordered from the menu. My wife had the lamb, which was only okay. I had the Country Cordon Bleu, which was a very interesting twist on the traditional French dish. I enjoyed it. The other couple was the opposite of us - the wife had the Special (same as me) and the husband had the steak frites. He enjoyed his steak. The wine list is limited. We had an excellent Bourdeau, at $80. The selection below $80 is VERY limited.

    The food was terrific but the service was slow, even though the restaurant was not busy. I ordered a bottle of white wine from the wine list. They had some difficulty finding it and then had to chill it before serving which resulted in a long wait. Next time I’ll stick with red!

    I’ve been to Asheville several times and have somehow skipped over this restaurant. Never again! I now plan to dine here every time I travel here. My boyfriend and I ordered the French onion soup, mac & cheese, truffle fries with garlic aioli, and prime rib with brussels and mashed potatoes. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to dine in Asheville.

    Very nice dinner for my birthday. I was sorry that the prime rib offering didn’t come in a size smaller than 10 ounces - I can’t eat that much! But the 4 ounce filet was prepared perfectly and I enjoyed the frittes and the French onion soup too. Service was excellent. Enough attentiveness without being intrusive. The background music added to the overall experience while allowing for table conversation at a reasonable noise level. Very quiet at 6pm and moderately noisier later as we prepared to finish up our meal. While we didn’t use the complimentary valet service next door, I appreciated the fact it CD was offered.

    We had a cocktail at the bar before dinner and that was the only blemish on the experience. The bar tender was a little rude and though the drinks were well made they were crazy expensive. I expect an up charge at times but good lord. Other than that the actual dinner and wine were delicious!! The lamb chops were perfect for my husband and the mushroom appetizer was delicious as was the quinoa salad. Magnifique!
