   This is one of our favorites for a special occasion. Had the avocado egg rolls and macadamia chicken.

   Fish and chips were not great. The chips were not crispy. No malt vinegar for the fish. Asked for no cilantro on my Thai pad and it came with cilantro.

   Our waiter was not attentive, taking well over 10 minutes to greet us and another 10+ to gather our drinks (fountain and bar). Food pacing was off, food temp was varied, our salmon definitely hung out under the heat lamp for a minute before we got it.

   Our group entertained an executive of our company from Germany. We chose this establishment because of a recent excellent dinner and the proximity to the guest hotel. The food was subpar and waitstaff was slow. Waiter asked if people wanted dessert as soon as the food arrived. Steak was tough and chewy. All in all not a great experience and will not be back anytime soon.

    Ordered bottomless mimosas and 1 appetizer for a Sunday brunch. We had planned on eating lunch as well, but when our order of potstickers took over an hour to get to our table, we decided to tab out and dine elsewhere. The bottomless mimosas also wasn’t worth it, since our server was no where to be found for the majority of our visit. I believe we only had 3 a piece the entire 2 hours we were there We still paid full price for the mimosas and 1 app. Disappointing since our table of 3 was all industry!

    We went to KONA for the advertised $7.99 burger, only to find out it was switched to “carry out” only. So I ordered the $19 burger, and my bride ordered the Asian Salad with Macadamia Nut chicken. Only to find out that the kitchen was all out of the ingredients to make the salad. We finished our drinks, and were on our way. Disappointed in the entire experience. KONA needs to work on being a customer friendly restaurant again! We kept hearing the “manager said, “ but the manager never appeared to apologize or offer alternatives.

    Happy Hour had great buys on it. Potstickers and Chicken satay were yummy and so was the Kona Stir Fry. Great attentive service and yummy drinks

    They over book the reservations. Everyone was waiting for their table with a reservation for 30 mins plus. Extremely loud and crazy crowd not what we have expected

    If you enjoy eating in a loud nightclub scene this is the place for you. I don’t so probably plan to go during the week going forward. Always enjoy the food though but seems a little pricey.

    We have a Gluten allergy and a nut allergy when asked for gf soy sauce the waitress informed us they were out of it then proceeded to tell us she talked to her mgr who advised these packet were gluten free. First ingredient listed on the soy sauce packet is wheat. Our server couldn’t answer any questions regarding the menu both food and drink. I wouldn’t recommend going here, half of our party ended up sick by the end of the night due to their incompetence. Save yourself find another happy hour

    Kona definitely had the feel of a chain and was pricier than expected. Our meals were good though. The bathroom was really neglected. That always makes a bad first impression for me.

    Kona has consistently been our top 5 KC restaurant’s over the years. Valentines Day we went and whole experience was horrible. Menu changed. We expected to eat sushi and they only had a handful of options versus whole menu. Friend wanted a side salad to go with the steak dinner and only option was half of the Asian salad. Two people ordered Ribeye and was tough and overcooked. Long time before we go back if at all. Very expensive and a huge disappointment from one of our favorite establishments…

    We called ahead and were told that it would be the normal menu on Valentine’s Day. However, it was not the normal menu and our favorite items were omitted from the “valentines menu.”

    They were very busy but we did a reservation so did not have to wait longer than 10 minutes. We were expecting to have more options for our dinner as the website listed more unique options for a romantic date night, dinner for two. The sushi was phenomenal and the sweet chili salmon was quite delicious. The surf and turf was sub par as the options were very limited vs what the website listed. The ribeye was served medium well rather than medium rare.

    Received a burger that was not prepared how we ordered. The burger was sent back and we were told it was on its way back out twice. After 60-75 minutes there was still no new burger served to us. At that point, we decided to leave. The service of the waitress was good and the manager took the missing burger off the bill but the service of the kitchen was not of a good standard when we went.

    The food was good. Tuna tartare wasn't exactly tartare but tasted great. Shrimp stir fry and macadamia chicken were also tasty. The service was average at best. The overall impression was positive, but the price is too high for that kind of experience.

    I’m sure no fault of theirs, but they were short staffed and had an entire section closed off. They ran 15 to 30 minutes behind on reservations. Server was slammed with several large tables. So it wasn’t our best experience. However, food was good.

    Our server needed help, had too many customers to wait on and working very hard but impossible to deliver good service. Our food was cold after waiting 40 minutes from ordering it and there was someone yelling loudly at the bar and clueless about where she was and that others were eating at the restaurant. We were there for two hours. First time to try this restaurant and last time we will be there. So much for Restaurant Week!
