I have been here before and come back, because the food is good. Most recent visit was a few days ago on a Wed eve. Our area was crowded and there was only one waiter. It took over 10min for him to take our initial order. My dish ended-up being given to the person across the table from me and when I realized this, we both had started on a couple of bites (disappointing). The low score is related to poor service, not the food.
Amazing food and service. Perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. Highly recommend to everyone.
The food is amazing - every person was happy with every dish ordered. Also, I must have indicated we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation, and they had decorated our table. However, the service was slow. I had to call our waiter over twice. We were there probably 15-20 minutes before we even got to ask about wine. Ended up ordering wine with our meals. I don't know if the more regular customers get better service or if this is how it goes.
We were super disappointed in our meals and the pricing. A $55.00 steak should not be accompanied by fries and undercooked broccoli. We ordered sides for the table to share that were never delivered even though we asked twice. We left hungry after paying nearly $150 for two people. The others at our table were in agreement. All disappointed in their meals and pairings. Never again.
Terrible service and needed to get several managers attention just to get our food after a 2 hour wait.
My husband and I go to Landini Brothers on a regular basis and have never had anything but great food and service. Their staff is very knowledgeable, the menu selection is extraordinary. The last two times we were there I had their Lobster Salad Plate with Lump Crab meet, fresh avocado and asparagus, which was exceptional. My husband had the spinach and cheese stuffed ravioli which was also delicious. But the “piece de resistance” was the Oysters Rockefeller appetizer. The oysters were superb. The best I have ever had. Thank you for an enjoyable dining experience.
I ordered the lobster pasta, my lobster was overcooked and tough. Considering its a $47 pasta dish I expected much better quality. Our margheritas were not good. The veal tortellini had no flavor and the texture was not right. We asked for lemons to go with our tuna tartare appetizers and it took almost 10 minutes to get them. The tuna tartare was just mushy flavorless gobs of fish. Every single dish deserved to be sent back. The service was slow and the waiter checked on us only once after our entrees arrived. This place is overpriced, your much better off going next door to Il Porto.
Excellent food, service, and décor. Had a wonderful valentines' day with my SO.
My girlfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day. I saved up to make sure we could have a good time. The food was spectacular, but the service was terrible. I get it, it’s a busy night, we are in our late 20s so he probably thought we weren’t going to tip, and so on. However, our waiter was condescending, unhelpful, and ignored us pretty much the whole time. Some of his comments made me think of walking out. I still tipped him 20%, but I will never go back because he took so much away from what was supposed to be a special and romantic evening.
We went for Valentine’s Day and overall really enjoyed the meal. We stayed for almost 3 hours and never felt rushed which was great. They definitely jacked up the prices for the holiday by ~$10 but that’s expected. Only downfall was it was pretty cold upstairs but other than that the ambience was great
Went here for Valentine's Day dinner and was very excited by the menu options online. Unfortunately, they limited the menu for Valentine's Day. This is understandable, but the limited menu was not posted anywhere. What is especially unacceptable is that the exact same dishes cost $10 more on the special Valentine's Day menu. It had been a few weeks since we made the reservation so we couldn't confirm this until we got home. I would have loved to see a manager try to explain why the exact same dishes should cost almost twice as much. This really put a damper on the whole experience.
The food was good and there was plenty of it. The service was very rushed and the bar was backed up, but I would attribute these to what you expect on Valentine's Day.
Service & food were excellent as usual.
We had our wedding reception here 10 years ago and our waiter made our Valentine night return special. Attentive to every detail without intruding.
Valentine’s Day Dinner. Traffic was crazy that evening and we called about stuck in traffic. Held our table, received great table upstairs in an enclosed area. Perfect!! Best food, service, greeters, parking (valet). Entire evening was relaxing once out of traffic.
Pasta is not homemade as advertised. Service is below average. Food is way overpriced and just average cuisine. Noise level too high because stone walls reflect voices, kitchen noise, and background music. We won’t return.
Pasta dishes were good, but be prepared to spend some money here!
This was my first time at Landini Brothers and I would definitely recommend. I made a note in my reservation that we were coming for an anniversary date and when we arrived our table was decorated with a handwritten note welcoming us for our special occasion. They also brought us a complimentary dessert which was very nice. The restaurant isn't over the top fancy - there were plenty of people with slacks and blazers on but we also saw couples with jeans and sneakers on.
If you are looking at the menu online, please note that the server offered a TON of other options that were specials for the day. At least over a dozen. I was actually impressed that he could remember all of them. I believe we both ordered one of the specials instead of off the menu and they were both delicious.
One thing I will say is the service was a little bit slow. I don't think this is out of being inattentive or anything but more just them wanting to give you your space. We did have to flag the server down a couple times when we needed something. This was no big deal - just something to think about if you're on a time crunch.
Another positive about this restaurant is the fantastic location. Right after dinner we were able to walk around Old Town and hop into some other bars. Great for a date night.
Landini Brothers really did a wonderful job helping us to celebrate my husband’s birthday, from the confetti on the table, to the card, to the slice of birthday tiramisu, the experience was above-and-beyond perfect. Thank you!!
Birthday with the ex.
Order fish special and it was old fish from the weekend as tasty nasty
Also asked for no potatoes and extra veggies and they did not do it
Finally asked for ice tea and it was never received
Place has gone down hill
Wonderful as always!
The food was excellent and fresh, and our waiter was very attentive! We were celebrating our anniversary. This is definitely not a place to celebrate a special occasion unless you don't care if the table next door is dressed in sneakers and jeans at 7pm on a Saturday. We enjoyed ourselves, the food and the wine; however, we wouldn't go back for a special occasion. This is more of a casual restaurant for families.
Our first visit with friends from out of town. We all rate it as excellent and plan to return.
Landini Bros is a one of kind. I’ve been doing here for many years and always have great food, service and experience. The daily special choices are almost legendary and how the staff remembers them all is amazing.
If you’re in DC or VA seek out Landini Bros in Old Town!
Landini is my favorite restaurant in Old Town Alexandria.
This was our third visit to Landini Brothers. Every experience has been delightful. Our server was outstanding. He was most accommodating and had a lovely twinkle in his eye. I wish I could remember his name. On each visit, I’ve had the most outstanding vodka martinis, consistently made to perfection! Our entrées were delicious. I’m looking forward to a return visit.
This was our third or fourth time dining here. We arrived an hour earlier than our reservation. This gave us a change to have drinks at the bar. This seems to be a locals spot. The bartender was nice. She certainly knows how to pour a drink. The service on this particular evening was a little slow but that definitely didn’t spoil the evening. We were given a nice little table in the corner which gave us some privacy. The food was excellent as always. A great spot for date night or just hanging out. All of the staff were very friendly.
Food, service and ambiance all were outstanding. Our waiter and the restaurant in general made us feel very special for our Anniversary dinner there. We definitely will return and definitely would recommend Landini Brothers to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience in Northern Virginia.
Enjoyable but overpriced. Apps are $15 and up. $14 Johnnie Walker black, and pasta entrees are $19 and up. Again, enjoyable but inflated for what is offered. Then again, its in the heart if Olde Town Alexandria and has been around for a long time. So take my thoughts with that in mind.
We sat at the bar. The bartender wasn’t very friendly or attentive. We were very disappointed and most likely will not return. I am sure the food is fine but we were not going to waste our time.
Had a birthday celebration and our server made our night!! Eric was very accommodating and gave us amazing service! 5 stars for the warmth of love and attention to our group all night. Really appreciate the experience here for all of our first time. Thank you landini brothers!
We are at a loss as to why this place is so popular? The food is mediocre, we had the lobster ravioli special and rock fish special. The ravioli was dry and tasteless and the rockfish was ok, just ok. The service is just ok, we had to flag down a waiter to get a cocktail and no one stopped by after the food was served to ask how things were. They think because they have worked there for a long time, that they are great servers, but they aren’t, they are bored and view diners as tourists, in the pejorative sense. We are locals and every couple of years go back to Landinis, thinking maybe it wasn’t so bad, but alas this is our last visit because it really is not good, not cheap and the decor is just plain tacky.
Amazing waitress, bartender, food, and wine. A great night!
As always, the food, service, and atmosphere were spot on. We loved our dinner. This is one of my favorite spots every time I travel to DC for work.
Our reservations were at 6:45. It took 20 minutes just to get menus at the table. We were not served dinner until 8:30. There was a table literally right behind me which was very uncomfortable; especially when the servers were passing plates almost directly over my head. It was very loud because there were too many large parties in that room. The food was ok but nothing special.
We ordered melon wrapped in prosciutto and we got melon slices and a pile of prosciutto for $16 you couldn’t wrap it for us? Not impressed
Unbelievable service, amazing food, great wine selections, perfect portion sizes, and luxurious ambiance! Highly recommended!
Very good food, a nice menu, and several "off menu" specials to choose from. The wait staff was attentive to pouring water, delivering food, etc., but the actual waiter seemed to have a lot of tables, and it took a while to get around to them all for ordering food and drinks and paying the tab.
Outstanding facility, phenomenal staff, great food!
I neighborhood favorite we love lLandini Bros; we will be back many times
