Blacks Corner at the Tram Shelter is our British food and wine bar by the sea, set within Seaburn’s restored seafront gardens, whose planting and original character were recreated using historic photographs.The Grade II listed Tram Shelter was sensitively brought back to life with support from the Coastal Communities Fund, preserving its original ironwork, timber and fish-scale roof. The restoration received a Northern Design Award in 2023.Our all-day menu follows the changing pace of the coast: coffee and breakfast in the morning, brunch and seasonal dishes through the day, followed by plates and wine into the evening.     We had a family night out here before going to see a concert. It was a birthday celebration. The birthday girl received a free glass of Prosecco which was lovely. We had a tasting board & a selection of hot food & it was all delicious. The service was friendly, prompt & helpful. Thank you for a great night!

    We shared all of the starters (apart from the peppers which were unavailable) - all of them were excellent - chicken wings, cauliflower, red pepper hummus and arancini. I had the prosciutto, burrata and grilled peach pizza which was excellent. Service was great, attentive but not intrusive and the restaurant had a really lovely feel about it. Great first visit.

    Called in before a concert next door at the fire station, had a table booked and had been told that there was a football match on, wasn’t a problem, shown to our table. Good service, food hot and tasty. Would recommend especially if going to either the fire station or the empire,.
