Oma's Hideaway is a vibrant, maximalist restaurant inspired by the life and spirit of Chef Thomas Pisha Duffly's grandmother, Kiong Tien “Tina” Vandenberg. Her ability to adapt, to make the most out of limited resources, and to stay creative while projecting warmth and brightness is the guiding force behind Oma’s Hideaway.Born during the pandemic as a pop-up in the Gado Gado parking lot, Oma’s became a permanent beacon of iridescent light in Portland’s Richmond neighborhood in 2021. The menu draws from Tina’s life story, taking influence from the craveable, soul-satisfying hawker food of Singapore and Malaysia and “turning up the volume” with exaggerated yet balanced flavors in Chef Tom’s signature style. Experience was great, service was great. Our waiter did amazing to check in and refill drinks. Food was promptly served, didn’t feel we waited very long for our food. The desert we had was crème brûlée, we are not used to it being a cold desert. But was still very good tasting. My wife’s filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and melted in the mouth. My prime rib tasted amazing as well. our potatoes maybe could have used a tiny bit more milk/butter as they were a little dry.

This was my second time at Oma's Hideaway and it was great again. All of the food was very tasty and the cocktails were great too. Service was very friendly and helpful. We love this place.

Everything was delicious! Steaks cooked perfectly! The calamari is one of our favorite items there! Breaded lightly, tender, perfectly seasoned. Service and ambiance was great!
