True Food Kitchen has plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on their seasonal menus. The restaurant chain puts an emphasis on health by following the anti-inflammatory pyramid and recommendations of Dr. Andrew Weil, who founded True Food Kitchen. Some of the menu items include dairy and meat. Because of True Food Kitchen’s commitment to health, though, most of the options are vegetarian or vegan. Although the menu changes according to seasonal availability, guests can expect to find vegan options like Teriyaki Quinoa Bowls, T.L.T. (Tempeh, Lettuce, & Tomato) Sandwiches, and Tomato & Arugula Pizza. Yes, True Food Kitchen serves vegan pizza — proving that people don’t have to give up pizza just because they stop eating cheese. The Tomato & Arugula Pizza doesn’t even use any kind of fake cheese. The pizza gets its flavor from an expertly made dough, organic tomatoes, olive oil, and lemon. It’s worth trying!

At first glance, Ecco doesn’t look like it should get listed as one of Atlanta’s best vegan restaurants. The local chain, which has locations in Midtown, Buckhead, and the airport, has a menu that starts with Cured Meats & Cheeses. Vegans shouldn't let the starters scare them away from the restaurant. Ecco’s executive chef, Brent Banda, has wide-reaching talents. Although he loves working with meat, cheese, and seafood, he also enjoys dabbling in vegan cooking. Ecco focuses on modern European cuisine, so expect many of the vegan dishes to follow a similar style. The vegan options usually include wood-fired flatbreads and pasta. The menu changes according to the chef’s whim, though, so it's difficult to know what it will feature. Ecco’s flexibility makes them a great choice when vegans want to dine with a group that includes both vegan and meat-eating friends.

Double Zero is a nice Italian restaurant in Emory Village. It’s not a pretentious place, but has won numerous awards from Zagat, USA Today, and other publications. As a traditional Italian restaurant, expect to find the usual suspects like Cannelloni, Pappardelle, and Orecchiette Salsicca, all of which contain some kind of meat. Visitors will also find plenty of items that they can easily make vegan. The Grilled Kale is a wonderful way to start a meal. Just ask the waiter to leave off the ricotta cheese. Similar adjustments will make the Cauliflower, Verdure, and Pizzas vegan. No, Double Zero isn’t a vegan restaurant. But they are a pleasant place that will accommodate vegan need while still making delicious meals.

One of Decatur’s most popular steakhouses on a list of best vegan restaurants?! It may seem ridiculous at first. Consider the difference between Parker’s on Ponce and other steakhouses, though, before passing judgment. At the typical steakhouse, the menu doesn’t have anything for vegetarians and vegans. Guests practically have to beg the waiters to leave butter and sour cream off their baked potatoes. Parker’s on Ponce, however, makes vegans welcome by offering a Dry Fried Tofu “Steak” that comes with Thai coconut farro, green beans, and shiitake mushrooms. It’s an impressive option in a restaurant genre that normally doesn’t pause to think about vegetarians. Parker’s on Ponce will never become the go-to spot for vegan food. The next time friends want to go out for steaks, though, encourage them to choose Parker’s on Ponce. They're the only steakhouse around that has a tasty item for vegans on the menu.

Tuk Tuk’s Chef Dee Dee Niyomkul draws inspiration from generations of Bangkok cooks. Her parents created Nan’s Thai and Tamarind Seed. Her grandmother made street food in Bangkok. Tuk Tuk’s menu makes the influence obvious. Tuk Tuk isn’t a 100% vegan restaurant. Thai food, after all, traditionally uses a lot of seafood. The menu does, however, include plenty of delectable options for vegetarians and vegans. When vegans visit Tuk Tuk Tahi Food Loft, they should order the Thai Samosas, Tofu Thod, Roti Ke-Yow, or Green Curry with tofu.
