Farm-to-table and authentic New Orleans cuisine come together in the French Quarter at M bistro, where the chefs take an indigenous approach to the preparation of meats, seafood and produce from farmers in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Alabama. Three velvet-draped semi-private “Cheater’s Booths” and a private Wine Room offer additional venues for a special meal.

Our restaurant and lounge are conveniently located on the third floor lobby level of The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans.

We loved our experience here! Bruna was an attentive and courteous server. Sitting in the cheater’s booth made for a romantic dinner! Food and drinks were amazing.

Ambient temperature in the restaurant is uncomfortably cold most of the time. Food is good but not great. Gumbo is very good, but ours were served lukewarm and needed to be sent back. Salads were not well executed with overcooked chicken strips and unpleasant tasting dressing which was all over the salad even though we requested that it be served on the side. Sandwiches were not great, just average.

Breakfast/brunch is consistently good. Dinner ambiance is great on nights when the Jeremy Davenport jazz group plays, but dinner cuisine is not great. The worst grilled oysters we’ve had, short ribs were fatty and disappointing, and the shrimp gnocchi sauce had a good flavor, but the gnocchi was tough and chewy. The waitress asked if we were celebrating anything special, to which I answered Yes-my husband’s birthday (true), and we ordered dessert, but no candle. Why even ask if you don’t plan on adding a candle to the dessert we are paying for?
