Restaurants in Dumfries and Ga

A busy night with many Christmas bookings but as a couple we still didn’t feel rushed. Quality of ingredients excellent and cooking standard terrific. It was our first time here but we will be back. My only negative point is something the restaurant can probably do little about: noise levels. It was so noisy that it made chatting a bit difficult but I’d be confident that it’s less exuberant once the party season is over. Staff are very good too. Great venue

I dined here only this evening and was desperate to get a review in. Me and my partner both opted for the 8 course degustation menu…and oh my goodness, It was absolutely amazing!! 8 courses (and much more!) of creative, elegant, deliciousness. The restaurant itself holds so much history which adds to the great atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and explained the food presented to you. The value for money on the menu was outstanding and you really do get plenty of food, we are stuffed! We would really recommend 1610, massive hats off to the chefs, thank you for a great evening!

Lovely late lunch on 1st January. As always the service was excellent and the food too……. we were lucky enough to have a window table and the views were amazing!

We had a perfectly lovely New Year's Day lunch at the Trout. The food was perfect, and the service excellent. Although it was busy, we did not feel rushed or under pressure. When we're next in the area, we'll be back!
