Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Yaletown, Minami follows the pioneering footsteps of its sister restaurant, Miku, in delivering the innovative dining experience of Aburi cuisine to Vancouver's thriving food scene. Each piece of sushi is flame-seared using a blowtorch and binchotan (oak charcoal), resulting in sushi with a smoky aroma and a melt-in-your-mouth texture.

    The flavours were amazing. We ordered a few dishes we had never tried and they were soooooo delicious. Soba noodles, wagyu steak and misa sablefish. Great night.

    We love going to Minami. The food - especially the sashimi and nigiri - is excellent. And this record stands. The otoro and chutoro is amazing. Our waiter - Aden (hope I’ve spelt that correctly) was superb. Perfect level of attentiveness without being intrusive. Even more impressive, he remembered the names of everyone in our party. All in all, we had we had a wonderful evening except towards the end. At around 9pm, a group arrived. They were loud - like really loud - and the noise made it difficult hard to hold a conversation around our table. Someone from the restaurant should have asked them to be more considerate but disappointingly, that did not happen. There was no choice but to leave. Luckily we were finishing. Hmmm…

    Every single dish we ordered was top tier delicious. It is an expensive place, but 100% worth every penny, best sushi we have ever had! Excellent service, warm and clean atmosphere. We will be back every time we are in Vancouver, if we can.

    Jeremy was our waiter and he was super good! He was very personable and attentive. Food was delicious as always. Perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my fiancée. Already have made reservations to return in the future for special occasions!

    It’s been awhile since I last went to Minami. I always had the impression Minami has amazing top quality eats and crave to go Minami once awhile. During yesterdays visit, the food did not give me the “wow” taste. The sashimi didn’t taste fresh. The rolls were just ok. The aburi was not torched much. Overall the food experience was not as well as before.

    Food was outstanding, best sushi I have had in Vancouver. The service was superb; our waiter was accommodating, helpful in suggesting different dishes and in meeting the needs of one of our table mates who had a food constraint. It is noisy but this is not overbearing. Overall, memorable food, service and evening. We will be back, many times!
