Vinnies Pizza is a traditional Italian restaurant and pizzeria. This trattoria began its life all the way back in the 1950s with a Sicilian restaurateur named Salvadore Oliveri. Salvadore, along with his wife and six children, opened up Vinnie's in Ellis Island serving the many immigrants that arrived daily. The pizza was such a success that Vinnie's Pizza continues to be a neighborhood staple even to this day.Vinnies Pizza's menu begins with a fantastic selection of Italian appetizers. Guests will find bruschetta, garlic bread and piadina, a homemade flatbread with garlic-infused olive oil, ricotta cheese, Italian sausage, fresh basil and fig jam. Most people come fo the pizza, though, specifically the Vinnie's Favorite. This massive pie comes loaded down with salami, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, beef, ham and linguisa. There is also a four seasons pizza with four different recipes on each quarter of the pie.
