   This was my first time visiting Notch 8 . We were a party of 7 celebrating my sisters birthday. First of all the place is beautiful. I felt it was very elegant and had a luxurious feeling to it . It’s also situated inside the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver . When my husband and I showed up we waited for nearly 15 minutes to be greeted. Finally we did get greeted it was by a server who told us the host was busy. The server did take the other two groups and seated them in the bar . We finally were helped at 8:58pm. Our reservation was for 9 and then waited for another 15 minutes to be finally seated . Once inside we switched our tables near the live band . The singer was amazing ! He really interacted with the customers and I really enjoyed his singing. The service provided by the server was absolutely ridiculous. We had an older man server who helped us. He looked cranky and very over whelmed. Every time we saw him we had to yell for him to take our order . He seemed very rushed . He would take one order and leave but we would have to flag him down to order more food and more drinks. We were only there maximum 2 hours and only ordered 4 meals. Perhaps he got over whelmed with all the drinks we ordered , I’m not sure . Over all it wasn’t the best experience but I think I would try it out one more time :)

   I have never had such a good customer service and care before! Booked the lunch reservation instead of the afternoon tea by mistake, and was already grateful she got us the high tea set even though we could not site in the cherry blossom area. But our AMAZING waitress Raluca, went above and beyond her job, by decorating a private booth into a magical cherry blossom 🌸 experience, helping us take photos, and truly turned around my stressful month into the best High tea experience ever!!! Love you Raluca! You are a true Gem 💎

   Great location and setting. Service fantastic - friendly and timely. Burger and Turkey sandwich were enjoyed, green bowl was uninteresting and could have done with a lot more flavour and texture.

   We ordered the prime rib sandwiches and the lunch special which was the fish n chips and bread & butter pudding. My fish n chips meal came within 20 minutes which is great, but the prime rib sandwiches took an extra 20 minutes to come. When they eventually came, they were very bland, not really worth the price. The bread pudding was great and the fish n chips were great too. It was the waiting time for the prime rib and quality of the sandwiches that was not up to the "Fairmont Hotel" standards. We would likely not return based on this.

    It was an amazing experience to dine at Notch8. If I feel little fancy or have a special occasion to celebrate, Notch8 is IT! I took my manager for her Birthday lunch there and they took care of her so well that she was beyond pleased with the experience. They brought in a very nice dessert for her and the food was immaculate! I would say if you are looking for a spot to celebrate any occasion or wish to treat your loved ones with a special treat, don’t think twice, Notch8 is the perfect spot that is not only good on your palate but also your wallet! ❤️🥂 Cheers and Thank you Notch8.     Great vibe! The food was 5/5. We both had the 3 set course and it was fabulous. We were so full, we had to take our dessert home.. which was the salted caramel cheesecake and I would highly recommend! Even after the walk to our hotel, it was still delicious. Drinks are just as great. It was 2 birthdays and complimentary champagne was brought for the table which was a great touch! Our server & food runner were also really wonderful. Will be back!

    It was our wedding anniversary Sunday brunch. Service was great and they provided us with glasses of champagne and a candle lit cake complimentary. Was a nice surprise. Food was good nothing to complain and the selection was nice much better than other breakfast buffets we have been to. Just a bit pricey but what can you expect, it’s in the Fairmont!

    We came to grab some breakfast before our engagement shoot but it was time to be served lunch but our waitress let us order breakfast at last minute. Our host also asked us what our plans were for the day and once we brought up our engagement, he gave us celebratory mimosas to get through the the morning. Food tasted amazing! Ambience and service was perfect! We can’t wait to be back.

    The first time I had buffet in Vancouver. Good that I have chosen Notch 8! Excellent service and very good food! The mixed berries smoothie is my favourite drink. For the food, I like smoked steelhead, tomato salads and shrimps. Overall a very happy meal for me!

    It took the hostess way too long to attend to us. She was helping another couple but they went over the entire menu at the front desk and she didn’t acknowledge our party at all. After she sat the couple she slowly returned and then left to make sure our table was ready even though we were close to waiting 10 min. Then we were sat way in the back corner. I asked her to move as I made this reservation awhile ago and she simply said” No, there’s no service there”. I was unhappy with our table and when our server came he very happily moved us to a more desirable table. After we were moved we had a lovely lunch with great service. The washrooms were also very dirty with paper towel all over the place and garbage cans so full that the garbage was coming out of the top.

    Great anniversary date with my husband. Service was amazing this time around comparing to my last visit in December. Food is great overall except for the benes that are hard as usual.

    Service was bad. Made it feel like we weren’t welcomed with our toddler. Coffee was cold, waitress messed up our daughters order took 20 minutes to get it fixed only after I went up to our waitress twice to get her meal fixed (how hard was it to get a kids bacon and egg breakfast.. first time we got an egg.. then they tried to give us a side of bacon.. finally we got it right) By then she had eaten from our meals in order to avoid a hungry toddler getting grumpy.

    Food was really good. My family enjoyed the prime rib but the onion soup was not that good. We wish we have more choices on the soup for 3course meal.

    DINE OUT BEWARE!!!! DONT COME HERE!! You get a slice of duck spam as appetizer. The main course schnitzel is worse than chicken mcnuggets, with no dipping sauce. If you want deep fried pork chop, go get Taiwanese paigu mien, or Japanese katsudon. The dessert mango tart tastes like it's from Costco. Not worth the calories.

    Although we came to this restaurant for the second time in a week and ate the same food, we still felt very good. Regardless of the environment, food and service etc, we are very satisifed and enjoyed.

    Went for Dine out Vancouver experience with bestie and we were ushered to a dining area we never expected, it was Chinese new year themed,felt sort of underground mafia Queens😝 the food is amazing! It was a great dinner😊
