Named for the year that Dr. John Anderson purchased the land upon which the resort now stands, 1796 Room has now been re-launched as a signature steak and chophouse, serving steaks, chops, fish and poultry of the highest quality.

1796 uses only the highest quality 21-day aged USDA prime beef. Our meats are prepared at 1700° on our infrared broiler ensuring juiciness, tenderness and flavor.

Our world-class wine list is designed to match the quality of our food selection, and our professional staff is trained to recommend the perfect wine pairing with your meal.

We took our father there for his 70th bday and he was blown away! Everything about the establishment is amazing. We couldn't have picked a better place.

Our server, Michelle, was excellent. The food outstanding. The bread was soooo good. We started with a Caesar and chopped salad. Both very flavorful. We had salmon and filet. I think that filet was cooked so perfect. Medium rare. Cut like butter. My husbands salmon was cooked nicely but it really needed some type of sauce. Desserts (cheesecake and carrot cake) excellent. Highly recommend!

Great food great steak, great atmosphere,wonderful service. Steaks were perfect. Todd was excellent as our waiter. Highly recommended.

I’m a salt lover and my food was almost inedible due to the amount of salt in my dish. The tofu steak was simply soaked in soy sauce with no special preparation for $39.

Dined here while staying at the Omni Bedford. The food was so good we went back two nights later. We had a wonderful 20th anniversary dinner Friday night and the filet was so delicious we decided to return Sunday evening. Filets were cooked to perfection and the blue cheese crust option was a winner. We tried the mashed potatoes, asparagus and brussel sprouts and they made the perfect accompaniments to the filet. Also the fig bread they serve while you wait is fantastic. The wait staff were kind and attentive. We already talk about taking a drive just to go back and eat here even tho we’re from out of town.

The filet was good but the mashed potatoes were cold and the mushrooms were just ok. No seasoning at all on the mushroom.

This restaurant prepares, seasons and serves the best fillets! Perfectly cooked, buttery and stands on its own without ANY thought of adding a sauce (although they offer several, but in my opinion any would overpower this beautiful piece of meat. They understand medium rare and achieve it every time I have had the pleasure of dining here. The wedge salad is outstanding with a generous portion of blue cheese, bacon and cherry tomatoes . The meal is not complete without the truffle fries. An indulgence worth the calories and cholesterol. Not to be forgotten is a nice bottle of wine ......... reasonably priced... and a delightful surprise that they carried one of my favorites. Last but not least, was the outstanding service by Jacob. He made dining alone feel comfortable and created an experience that was not neither rushed nor awkward. The entire staff was warm, welcoming and enhanced the evening........ but then that is the signature of the Bedford Springs. Just outstanding!
