We had a reservation for 6:30. We arrived at 6:15 and were seated promptly enough. We sat there for about 25 minutes before the waiter came. We ordered drinks. He came back with the drinks a few minutes later. Took our orders, didn't go over the menu or anything, not that big of a deal I guess. Maybe it was his first day or something. Wasn't really a very good waiter. Couples of both sides of us complained about the amount of time it had taken to get their meals and ask if they could just pay for what was brought to them at that point, which was drinks. We had been there a half hour longer than the one table, yet they were waited on first. Anyways, we finally got our food, the one couple left, the other one started getting their food after they had complained. The food was actually good, but it took over 2 hours to get it. We had been there before and it was a decent dining experience, but not this time. I may give them another try sometime, but not in the near future. They were understaffed apparently for this Valentines Day Meal. If service was that bad all the time, I'm sure they would be out of business. We both agreed that we would have been better off going to Hardee's for a #4 meal. The End.

This is a wonderful restaurant. We were very pleased with everything. It was an awesome place to celebrate our 52nd anniversary with friends. I very highly recommend it. And Sadie was a very good waitress!!

My husband and I were visiting Elkins for his birthday. We wanted to celebrate the evening with a quiet dinner. This was the perfect place. The food was delicious and our server was the sweetest person. She had worked there for over 4 decades and was very charming. She helped us decide what was good and then even talked husband into dessert. Will visit again.

We have eaten often at the 1863 Grill and it is always outstanding--Great service, good food and pleasant atmosphere. Recommend it highly. Comment: Lowell would have loved to have had "liver and onions." (Smile)

Service was great, the shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta didn't not have any flavor, but thats the only complaint I have, very accommodating though

We were there for over 2 hours. When the food finally came out, several things were either missing or just wrong. When we finally got the bill, it was incorrect. I asked for the correction and for the corrected total to be split between 2 credit cards. When we finally got the “corrected” bill back (about 20 minutes later) and the 2 separate receipts that had already been run on our cards, I realized that we were charged an additional $9 from what the original bill was. The total should have gone down $3. By that point we were so frustrated and ready to get out of there that we just left rather than wait another 30 minutes for an adjustment. To sum it up: the service was terrible, the food was mediocre at best and we were overcharged about $12. I have no reason to go back. Please note, I am not just a chronic complainer. This is actually the first time that I have ever left a negative review!

This was the 1st visit but not last for us! The wait staff was friendly and helpful. I had the brisket, slaw, and baked beans, It was all delicious. My boyfriend had the oysters and he said they were awesome. I have already recommended this restaurant to several friends and family members.
