Not the best experience for what you pay..... Service and Ambiance was great - but quality of the steak served was less than adequate. My Medium Steak came out well done and dry, but was barely hot, I think it finished before the others and cooked under the lamps..... I sent it back and got a new one, but the other guests I was with finished their meals before my order came out, so our dining experience was off, I would have been better off just not getting the steak and sticking to the sides, and at $400 for 3 people, you would think they would buy us a drink or pay for the one steak?, Nope - It will hard to go back now, Oh well!

It's by far the best dining experience in Olympia. They recognize us when we come in, make you feel welcome & do an outstanding job overall.

This was the second time we dined here and like the first time, it was great. The waiter- unfortunately I can’t remember his name- was very knowledgeable about the items currently on the menu and was able to suggest the right wine for my husband to pair with his meal. The portions were larger than we expected and the food was amazing. They acknowledged our special occasion of our 30th anniversary with a choice of complimentary dessert or champagne along with a personal card which I thought was above and beyond. I think the price is well worth it for the food, service and all in all ambiance.

Most expensive restaurant in Olympia. Typical high-end steak house menu-expensive cuts of meat (my filet had a bit of gristle), à la carte, with excellent appetizers and sides. There are non-meat options and nice desserts. The service was very good in a busy restaurant. We had 4 steaks, 4 sides and desserts, one drink each-$700, including a generous tip.

We dined here for a 4 p.m. wedding anniversary meal, that we so looked forward to. This is the earliest time a reservation can be secured at 1889. We have been to this steakhouse on other occasions. We’re not demanding, nor difficult people to please — try to show respect / convey appreciation for food prepared & served, fully enjoying the experience. We have dined frequently in some of the finest restaurants, including traditional steakhouses. The first time we dined here, the experience was much better — more personable. In fact, we chose to claim this establishment as our newly preferred immediate area steakhouse over the other choice. Things that didn’t work for us: Server touched the wife, moving a stray fallen long hair off of her face as we were ordering, saying that was “Driving her crazy.” No. Do not touch a patron in that manner, embarrassing her. If you must, whisper something discreetly in her ear that she may want to check something that may be unknown in the ladies room mirror. The food was good, but not great. For 1889’s prices, we expect better quality. The food was middle-of-the-road, quite honestly. Even though we had a 4 p.m. reservation, & were there maybe 1 & 1/2 to two hours for everything from appetizers, drinks, entrees, & desserts — the service gradually, (& unacceptably,) waned down to almost nothing by the time we paid our bill. The server seemed to know we had not received a 1st class experience. Our server has each & every time received a classy, substantial tip when we ate there. This last visit five months ago was no exception. (Cannot help but share the second to last time we were there, the same server that we always requested — after initial greetings were shared — complained to us about another couple that had just left not leaving her a larger tip. While this could cause frustration, one should not lay that on current, well-tipping patrons at the onset of their dining experience. Be more dignified.)

The meal was superb! Our steaks were prepared exactly how we like them. Every part of the meal was excellent. Mica did a great job ensuring our order was perfect! Thank you all at 1889 Prime Steakhouse. I can’t wait until our next visit!
