   Unfortunately afternoon tea was not up to much considering the price and comparing this to other places. The food was nice enough but I didn’t feel there was much of it. The cakes were poor but sandwiches and scones nice. The service was terrible. We were greeted by a waitress who was filthy, it then took ages for them to take our tea order, the afternoon tea then took a while to arrive too. The write up of the afternoon tea on the website sounded great, including great views when in fact we were in a tiny stuffy room with absolutely no atmosphere at all and only views of the car park! Unfortunately I won’t be rushing back or recommending this to friends and family which is a shame because we were very much looking forward to this on our child free trip away.

   I love afternoon tea here, it’s the second time I have been in 3 months. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much. Both times we have taken a young baby so have been there for a long time and made the most of the lovely room and log fire in winter. The sandwiches and treats are very tasty, the scones a tiny bit hard…but maybe we should have eaten them quicker as they were freshly warmed! I’ll be back again soon.

   There is no ambience in the Fig. The afternoon tea itself was average and in all honesty you would have been better off in one of the many tea rooms there are in the Cotswolds

   Wonderful typical cotswold building. I was slightly concerned there was no disabled friendly entry. Even a handrail would be great. Our waiter was Connor! He was amazing. He made my 50th birthday extra special! Afternoon Tea was amazing. All the food was freshly made. My partner isn't a fan of hot drinks, so to have a choice of a cold drink was brilliant! Everything was eaten. We'll definitely be back!

   This was a birthday gift from a friend, thought it was over priced at £30 each, nice enough finger sandwiches, plain scones were stale, mini cakes average. A glass of Prosecco might have made good value??

    We were extremely pleased with everything about The Fig. Well greeted and shown to a table of our choice. Food on offer was excellent and the service was efficient and very friendly. Layout of the room was good and not overcrowded with tables. Background music very appropriate for quiet dining. A good wide choice of teas made available. We will certainly tell friends of our find!! And be back again soon! G.

    The food was fresh but was quite basic, once our food had been brought to us no one came and asked if everything is ok, we did not have our champagne with the meal as the staff forgot, was offered it at the end when I told them but not quite the same so we declined, we were told as this was a voucher they could not do anything about it. Everything was fresh we left feeling disappointed, we very often have afternoon tea out and this was very much a basic one not the luxury we thought it was going to be.

    Staff were very friendly & helpful. Food was nice . Really enjoyed home made scones with cream & jam. Only criticism is think it would have been nice to have few sausage rolls or quiche with swhiches.

    I was surprised when I went into the Fig for tea. It was not as I had envisioned . The area designated for tea was very plain and a bit on the sad side. The interesting thing was there was a box with a variety of loose teas in little tins on the table. I chose my tea and expected to get a pot with loose tea, instead,, you got a pot with a tea bag.. Misleading for sure. The scones and sandwiches were just as expected.. All in all a basic tea experience.

    This was a pleasant afternoon tea. The cakes didn’t seem homemade, and they were all VERY sweet, there wasn’t the right balance between sweet and savoury. The service was good and it’s a very pleasant hotel, I just don’t think it was quite worth the price.

    No background music, no ambience at all. Everyone was whispering as no background noise to dampen voices in large room. Staff had music on in the bar but didn't think to do this in the room that afternoon tea was served. Food was average.

    This was a birthday treat for my wife and though she enjoyed it, i was rather disappointed. We were the only ones in the room and the lady who served us had difficulty getting some music on though did in the end. There was a strange addition of a wrap with a pepper in it which just didnt fit in with the theme and smelled strong. Neither of us fancied this. I think it may have been a sandwich replacement as I had asked for no fish/seafood. The bread, although fresh was disappointingly Chorleywood process, i expected a hotel of this standing and in the location it is to have used real bread. There was also a coffee based cake which neither of us ate. I dont like coffee and my wife isnt fussed and though i never mentioned beforehand about omitting coffee flavours i never really expected a coffee flavoured cake anyway. i was also shocked at the price when i paid as i had been lead to believe it was £ 21.50 with an additional Prosecco option which wasnt offered). The price turned out to be £ 30 though the website at the time said £ 25. It may have been helpful to have known this when booking emails were sent.

    Perfect for a romantic or special occasion. An afternoon tea in the picturesque village of Chipping Campden with its honey-coloured stone cottages & individual boutiques. The tea is truly lovely - a selection of sandwiches, freshly baked scones, cakes, macarons & the most delicious lemon posset topped with a berry coulis. You can have tea in the regency style dining room overlooking the pretty garden or outside on the terrace. We were initially given the tea as a birthday gift, but have since returned on our own as we enjoyed it so much!

    Beautiful surroundings. Attentive service. Happy to make adjustments when asked. Nice atmosphere Good selections of sandwiches and cakes. Gluten-free scones were particularly delicious. Warm too Given tour of gardens afterwards. Lovely day.

    Perfect setting in a beautiful hotel in the Cotswolds for an outstanding afternoon tea. There was a wide variety of irresistible morsels of deliciousness. Finger sandwiches, cakes, scones & macarons all artistically presented on a tiered stand. The cakes were incredibly light & we left feeling satiated, but not uncomfortable. The range of teas is interesting & of course one can add a glass of fizz for that special occasion. The hotel is situated in the centre of the historical town of Chipping Campden - a jewel in the Cotswolds.

    We were so disappointed with the £50 afternoon tea for two. The waitress asked if we had any allergies when we arrived which we confirmed we did. Fish and mustard. Unbelievably with a choice of only 4 sandwiches they brought us ham and mustard and smoked salmon sandwiches! It took a very long time to find some staff to let them know of their error but when we did they brought out two replacement sandwiches, half as many as the ones we couldn’t eat. There was also no apology from the waiting staff or from the bar staff when we were asked how the afternoon tea was (when we paid). The staff need to be urgently trained on the importance of allergies.

    There was plenty of food and an excellent choice of tea. It was a pity that when the food was delivered, the waitress didn't talk us through the variety of cakes on the tray. That said, when served, we were left alone to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea.

    Have written a full review on google. For the price, the quality and quantity of the food was shocking. We noticed other people had also left the red velvet cake, and we thought it was the worst of all items. Quantity wasn’t enough and we asked for more which we were charged for. Told that ‘afternoon tea isn’t unlimited you know’, which is in bad faith for 2 extra scones. Anywhere you go in a respectable place would offer some extras for no charge. Really awful experience and won’t be returning to the restaurant or hotel.

    Lovely setting but the experience wasn’t great. Firstly we were sat in a completely quiet room - some background music would have definitely been nice. Once our afternoon tea was delivered, the member of staff didn’t know anything about what was on the stand/didn’t talk us through the sandwiches and cakes on offer and we them didn’t see him. We needed some more hot water for our tea, but we had to go to the front desk to ask. The food was also disappointing. Sadly we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend to family and friends.

    The staff were very friendly! Fast service lovely atmosphere, was a little expensive we paid 75 for the 3 of us i think 20 per person would have been more feasible. Other than that very impressed would be lovely if there was an option for a more savoury afternoon tea also! That included quiche pork pies etc. For people who aren't that keen on a lot of sweetness.
