I’ve been here many times and always enjoyed the food but tend to have the same issue. My favourite curry is a chicken madras which is fairly hot. However on more than one occasion including my recent visit on 2 October, the madras had barely any heat. I don’t know if this is because it’s a different chef or not but it appears it’s more likely because I’m female and they make me a mild curry without asking. I’ve been asked once if I’d like it mild to which I refused. I order a madras because I like it spicy. Please make assumptions on how women like their food. Make the madras madras spicy unless a request is made.

Had been to Akbars many years ago and had enjoyed high levels of service and excellent food. Standards have not been maintained - decor old, dated, paint rubbed off of chairs and the tables appear to be canteen tables. Remnants of the previous peoples meal on our table and a chair. Food was bog standard and although different meals ordered they both tasted the same. We don’t go out often and when paying these prices, expect a good experience but this, unfortunately, was sadly lacking in all areas. Would NOT recommend.

Staff were amazing but food from the Kitchen was very slow - we waited 45mins for our starter. Onion bhaji was so hot that I couldn't taste the ingredients. Rogan Josh was tasty and the naan bread was delicious. Overall, a three star.

We were asked for order. We got poppudoms and drinks and an hour and a half later - still no main course. We complained about the waiting time. When our food came it was cold. We ended up paying for drinks and poppodoms and left

We were seated quick and given a menu after a few minute we got asked for starter we decided to order all at once to make it easier as it was busy the team were very polite and service was good well done to all

Booked a table for New Year’s Eve so we knew it would be busy, however the service was shocking. sat down before another 2 couples, and they got served, drinks ordered and orders taking before us, resulting in another 15 minute wait for us before someone came to order drinks. ordered a larger and a cocktail, the larger came with no cocktail and was told it would be coming soon, 25 minutes later we asked were it was, to be told it would be coming. Another 15 minutes passed and still no cocktail, a man came to ask if we wanted another drink, told him I haven’t had my first drink yet, he checked his tablet and then the starters arrived, before my drink even came. Eventually, after 50 minutes of ordering my cocktail it came to the table. when ordering food, we forgot to order the chips, so literally 5 minutes after we placed the order, I asks the waiter if we can order a portion of chips on to the order, he said this wouldn’t be possible as the kitchen already had my order and it would delay the cooking of it, surely adding a portion of chips onto a order would not have caused that much of an issue? Anyway the food was OK, nothing flash. They were far too busy that night and should have stuck to bookings and not take walk ins aswell, people felt rushed to eat there meals and leave as there was so many people waiting. We will not be back
