This was about my 3rd time visiting Ambar, but my first time at the Arlington location. I called ahead and made reservations, but they were extremely busy and the delivery of food to the table took a long time. The food was mediocre, service was ok. I wont be returning to this location again
Had a great time at Ambar in Clarendon! We did the Ambar experience, so we got to enjoy a taste of a little of everything off the menu! Can’t wait to go back!
It was our anniversary. Our sever brought out free bubbly and the food and wine was delicious. We’ll worth the 39.99 for the Ambar experience.
The food is always delicious, and there's plenty of outdoor seating (which folks should take advantage of while the weather's holding out!). Service folks are excellent and food comes quickly, but they might be a bit understaffed during the day, so just make sure to mention if you're in a hurry. Yum, yum!
Best birthday ever!!!! Thank you for wonderful service and amazing food :)
Very surprised at the quality of food and energetic atmosphere! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Salmón was overcook and beef sticks were so dry. Also, our waitress was in a hurry to take our orders
The food was great, nice portions for Brunch. I wanted to ho here for a while. I will be back often. The Bloody Mary was my favorite!
My friend and I had brunch at Ambar on Sunday. We decided on the Chef's Experience so we could try a little bit of everything... We tried a hefty portion of the menu and seriously most everything was terrible. Absolutely disgusting. Food was cold and the drinks (mixed berry mimosa) were room temp. The food actually tasted like it was yesterday's food... And the bread was hard as if it was 2-ish days old. Never again Ambar, never again.
Outstanding experience as always!
Service is friendly and anxious to please.
I’ve dined here before so when I tried the food I was beyond disappointed. It was bland and lacked seasoning. We got the white flatbread and it tasted like oil and bread. The salmon was disappointing, the eggplant jam/harissa sauce was awful. The mussels had zero mussels. The Ajvar again lacked taste.
This was our third visit to Ambar and most disappointing. The dishes were very underwhelming and most of the plates must have been pre- prepared and not made fresh to order. The salmon, chicken skewers and fish of the day were very dry. The grilled vegetables were flavorless and each of the plates (with the exception of the pepper croquettes) could have used a bit more salt. We were served only two hot plates that were delicious - the flatbread and pepper croquettes. Our pineapple mojito carafe was light and refreshing but seemed to only contain a splash of alcohol. At previous visits, we were wowed by the food, our most recent visit was a huge letdown.
Great time with wonderful food. Allows you to try a little of everything.
The food is lacking the original pizzaz it used to have. Much more bland these days. Their drinks suck though and they’ve always been bad but somehow they’re worse now
Great variety and good outdoor seating!
We were excited to try this restaurant. The food is solid but the service was not. We sat outside on a Saturday at 2 p.m. the service was bad, even by Covid-era standards. We were told that we could other ala carte or do their all you can eat brunch. But we were only provided menus for their all-you-can-eat options. When the server returned after a long delay and we expressed interest in simply ordering ala carte, we weren’t offered menus with item prices and were told general price estimates, which was odd. Our food came out without us being brought any napkins/silverware or plates so that we could share the tapas-style dishes. Another long wait. Men’s bathroom was dirty.
Great brunch place with a huge variety of tapas, drinks, and ambiance! We were seated downstairs, which was a bit noisy. Enjoyed our meal and will be back for more!
Have wanted to go to Ambar for a long time. Went for lunch during the week to meet friends who were visiting from out of town. We were seated outside, as requested, so there was street noise but that was expected. We ordered the all-inclusive menu and enjoyed many offerings from the kitchen. The flatbread was very good and so were the sausages. Shrimp was wonderful . Salad was a little weak given the bounty of fresh veggies currently available. Only real service issue was the filling of drinks, which seemed to take inordinate amounts of time. Overall delightful lunch.
We visited for a family reunion dinner. The variety and value for the small plates was great. Having spent time in Balkans, I appreciated the flavors. We also enjoyed the wines. Very good sample of Balkan wines. I thought staff were attentive and efficient with our group because we had some show at different times. The ambiance was nothing remarkable, but nice to have outdoor options.
Quaint lunch spot. Great variety of food and every dish was delicious. Try the express lunch for $25.
SOOOO good one of my favorite places in Arlington. Stick to the food and drinks though and have dessert somewhere else.....
Get the "Ambar Experience" Bring your appetite!!!
Some of the best, tastiest food I have ever eaten in Arlington. EVERY DISH was excellent, and the chicken, fish, and vegetables were truly exceptional. It's really a treat to eat here.
The server was eh
Go for brunch! The brunch is definitely worth it!!
Cocktails were incredible small and not worth the price. The Amber in DC has better quality food and drinks for the cost. Service was also laxking
Blaire was an outstanding server. She was charming, knowledgeable and made our dinner experience really amazing.
Wonderful food and service. Great drinks, great time.
Had the dinner ambar experience! All the dishes were great, fresh, warm, and above par.
It was my fiancé’s birthday I wanted it to be special for him. It wasn’t the service was bad we had to figure it out by ourselves
Wonderful food and service as always!
We were discouraged by the server from the all you care to eat package because we were 30 mins from last call and she said we would need two hours to have that experience. She also said she wouldn’t be able to bring more than three dishes to the table at once. So we ordered ala carte and ended up spending more than we would’ve had we done the package AND we got more than three dishes delivered at once. We felt taken advantage of and won’t be back.
Always amazing food and outstanding service! My number one favorite of all!!
Great food and great service. Lots of variety in their small plates
Food was good as always! And Dunja was great as well!
Very good food. Service was OK. Took forever (20 min) to get mussels. Top dishes tried include steak tartare, slow roasted lamb, and shrimp w/corn.
I had been here for dinner before, which was delicious, so was excited to try their brunch. We came here to celebrate a double birthday and got the brunch deal. Our orders came out quickly and the drinks were always flowing. Service was great and the food delicious again. I love the ambiance of Ambar inside and the decor is fun.
