   We greatly enjoyed our meal at Apex Bath City Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, the drinks top rate. Everything was very good value. It made my wife's birthday very special. A big thank you.

   The restaurant did not receive the correct booing therefore there was no High Tea ready. And it was completely empty. We had to cancel and look for alternative options to have high tea that afternoon.

   Definitely would not recommend this restaurant. Room was really cold. Food was less than satisfactory. Fish was served undercooked, actually raw in the middle. Waitress did take it away and apologise but the salad was already on the plate and didn't return with the newly cooked fish. My husband had already eaten his steak by the time my fish arrived back out on the table. To top it all a service charge of £8.80 was taken on the bill!!!!

   The location is inside a hotel and looks out onto Bath. The service was very good and the staff were very attentive and pleasant. The food was excellent and for the location the price was reasonable with good selection of drinks including cocktails. Wouls certainly recommend and visit again.

   We had the pea and ham veloutè was amazing and the venison was perfection. Portion size were huge and was an amazing experience and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Over all a beautiful restaurant and an amazing experience.

   Good menu and it more than delivered on execution and flavours. But I was a bit disappointed … we were the 1st people in the restaurant and ended up being seated on a seat where the covering was ripped and to be honest a bit sticky.

    Great service, our waitress (Sarah?) was excellent. We did the tea service and it was delicious and beautifully presented. Price was great compared to other spots closer to Roman Baths, even though it's just a short five minute walk. Would highly recommend.

    A warm welcome greeted us at the front desk. The young lady was clearly busy with residents,but polite and helpful. Directed to the restaurant where we were met with all the chairs up on the tables and the remnants of breakfast. No staff though. Went back to the front desk and were asked to take a seat whilst she phoned downstairs. We waited 15mins in the lounge and no one came. The lady at the desk was extremely busy (still on her own) so we walked back to the restaurant where a chap asked if he could help. He fetched a waitress who seated us back in the lounge (then we never saw her again) The barmaid brought over the menus, but didn't ask if we'd like a drink. We ordered our lunches and I had to ask for drinks. Cutlery was brought to the table...no napkins though. Lunch came soon after and was delicious. The young man who served us was very polite and brought us sauces etc. During our meal, no one asked if everything was ok or did we need anything else. When our plates were cleared, again, we weren't asked if we'd like anything else...dessert, coffee etc. For a 4* hotel it was more of a 3*

    The stay at the hotel was amazing and the reception staff/bar staff were great but breakfast was sadly a big disappointment. I'd invited another two people to meet us at breakfast but wish we'd gone out somewhere else instead. It cost I think seventy pounds for the four of us. The eggs were completely overcooked, parts of the breakfast were cold, sausages had been left in a heater and dried out - My mum wasa also served the tiniest piece of salmon with some very overcooked (brown) scrambled eggs and left most of it. Even the coffee, the staff had just topped up with hot water rather than coffee so it came out a light brown colour and tasted awful. The pastries were very nice and the continental stuff all fine, just felt really let down by the cooked. I don't normally leave reviews but just really expected a bit more from such an otherwise lovely hotel and felt a bit ripped off.

    booked a table to eat a 3 course meal and was offered a coffee table, not what we expected, the restaurant was not open, but eventually the staff brought a table into the lounge area so we didn't have to eat our meal on our laps

    This was without doubt one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. Half of the tables weren’t properly set up and there were chairs stacked on tables at one end. Our server was polite but incompetent. We asked for some bread. This was treated as if it were a hugely unusual request. 3 slices of bread then arrived (we were 4 people). Part of a calamari starter was dropped on the floor on the way to our table. Rather than apologise and have some more made, our server tried to pretend it didn’t happen and only admitted this simple error after we asked whether part of the serving was missing. Precisely one extra calamari ring was then produced a few minutes later. The food was very basic and plated without care or attention. I ordered a risotto which bore only the briefest resemblance to the real thing. Dry rice with some peas and 3 raw cherry tomatoes on top. I questioned whether it had been made in the restaurant or whether it had come out of a packet. My request for Parmesan again was met with surprise and after a second request “do you have any cheese at all?”, some cheddar was brought. The lack of initiative by our server was breathtaking. I’m surprised that the hotel hasn’t taken the time to train its staff. I would expect this kind of food at a service station not at such a nice hotel. We found the whole experience very disappointing. The manager apologised and said they had a big event on. Maybe it would be best to shut the restaurant when there is an event on as they clearly can’t manage.

    Very busy noisy hotel … the room was quite dirty chipped cup dirty sticky tray , bath plug all dirty with yellow stain around the rim … hairs all on carpet finger prints all over cupboards. We had an evening meal in the hotel it wasn’t the best . I ordered steak which was really hard… a few rocket leaves and cherry tomatoes… breakfast was a let down I ordered eggs Benedict .. I couldn’t eat it no taste no seasoning and it was completely covered with shredded smoked gammon … it wasn’t nice . This hotel is way overpriced our view was an electric large box outside our room .. I am really disappointed I won’t be returning or recommending this hotel .

    We had 2 courses which were tiny, but the right size for us. The pork was a little dry but the strudel was tasty. The desert was quite horrid. The mousse was hard! They had managed to make the fig taste like plant. The drinks took forever to arrive, at least 45 minutes. I didn't want mine after all that time. I tried to cancel it after all the time we waited only for it to turn up. The poor server knew it wasn’t right and apologised profusely, ah well…happy valentines!

    After a disappointing experience checking in to the hotel. We were excited for our Valentines Dinner. Our drinks took 25 mins to arrive, we ordered are steak medium rare and 80% of our steaks were raw, we left most of this on the plate. We did mention this to the waitress but nothing was done. The creamed spinach was bland and flavourless - not creamy at all. We only got 1 drink because we couldn’t be bothered to wait 30 minutes for another one. The waitress who was serving us was probably the only good thing about our dining experience. Our food bill was £80 and when paying I wanted to say something about our experience but didn’t want to ruin the mood for the another guests dining. I have never left a bad review / complained at a restaurant before, but due to the bad experience checking in and then a poor/ disappointing, and expensive dinner - I’m fed up with The Apex.

    Nice clean hotel good location but the food in the restaurant was less than average we booked the deal that included 3 course meal which was not worth it at all ! The food was tasteless and over cooked and the restaurant soulless! The breakfast was average too which was a shame fir what could be a lovely hotel

    We stayed at the Apex hotel for two night, because of staff shortages we were over 4 hours late getting into our room. As compensation the night manager (Trish ) explained our room had been upgraded and we were given a discount on the bill, also we were given a few free drinks vouchers. She bent over backwards to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Many thanks Trish a credit to the Apex hotel. I’m not not if it’s due to Covid but my evening meal was awful as a meat free person I found the choices appalling and the meal I had wasn’t enjoyable at all and except for the fries it was left on my plate. My husband has the sausage and mash potato and enjoyed his meal. We had two breakfast booked and the continental breakfast was very good and a lot of choices. The first morning I had 5he omelette and that looked like it wasn’t freshly cooked and quite tasteless. My husband had the cooked breakfast and the first day the eggs looked liked they had been cooked an hour befor he order and the bacon was completely cremated. The second day it was a little better but definitely not freshly cooked.

    Omg what can I say. We visited for a birthday cream tea treat and it was amazing. Service was excellent. We were seated on the balcony, and were able to go inside to enjoy the air con when we got to hot.

    Very quiet so they did table service English breakfast.however waitress didn’t ask what we wanted so it was everything ! Overall ok for a business meeting 1st thing in the day.

    Service was excellent despite a new waitress being trained. Manager very attentive when asked re:gluten free options and wanted to please. Lovely evening spent with family. We also stayed at the hotel for my daughters graduation and everything was excellent, well done Apex keep up the good work!

    On arrival the concierge failed to find our booking. He was very rude and dismissive and said that we can wait to one size while he try’s to free up something but it was very lack lustre. I would definitely not recommend any dinning in this establishment

    The staff were friendly, but the restaurant had no atmosphere. The food was okay, but nothing special. All that was available was a fixed menu which did provide good value for money, but it would have been nice if the a la carte menu had been available. We ordered a bottle of champagne which turned up warm and needed to be chilled. The staff took it away and put it in a chiller, bringing it back half way through our meal.

    Calm atmosphere, attentive and polite staff, particularly Euan, the manager, who went out of his way to make our meal enjoyable. Delicious food, well presented. Our second visit and will definitely return.
