we were greeted at the door by the hostess who certainly was not welcoming. Even though we had a reservation she informed us she only had one table available and we should take it or leave. She offered us a table just inside the door so that people entering and leaving the restaurant were forced to walk around our table which was not acceptable. Fortunately, a passing waiter recognized us as regulars and offered a table that had just cleared. The rest of the evening went very well, attentive waiter and excellent food. That was our fourth time dining at Beefbar and we will go back but someone should give the hostess a lesson in hospitality.

terrible experience on Friday July 3 Waiter first served warm bottle water server pushed to sell way to much food left with half the food in doggy bags first time steaks were brought to table meat was completely raw signature desert not available this is the 4 th time I am going there and was a complete disapointment when you spend 200 per person you would expect much better

Very disappointing service experience. Staff repeatedly asked if we had finished eating, including twice within five minutes. It felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant rather than being allowed to enjoy our meal. This made the dining experience uncomfortable and left a negative impression despite the food.

I have a very severe food allergy and the server made a lot of mistakes. Only when I pointed them out were they corrected. I did not feel comfortable eating the food.

WOW! The steak I had here was AMAZING, some of the best steak I’ve ever had in my life! The asparagus! The beef empanadas from the starters menu! 10/10! If you’re looking for great food, good setting (two dinner sides, one that’s quiet one that has live music by a Dj) I highly recommend! But don’t go if your budget is low, the cheapest steak was $80 and items on this menu go well over $500!

I’ve been a regular at Beefbar NYC for the past year and a half, and the experience consistently delivers. The food is fantastic, the cocktails are on point, and the service is genuinely warm and attentive, exactly what you want from a top-tier restaurant. My one ongoing frustration is the dress code enforcement. The reminders feel excessive, and on one occasion a guest of mine was actually given a hard time over her choice of footwear. In this day and age, that kind of rigidity can put a real damper on an otherwise stellar evening. That said, Beefbar gets so much right, from the quality of the food to the friendly, lively atmosphere and for now remains one of my go-to spots. Just come dressed for the occasion to avoid the hassle and you’ll have a great time.
