Over dit restaurant

Permanently Closed - You can pre-order from our menu in advance of your reservation if you are pressed for time.

Bistro India is Edmonton’s most authentic South Indian Restaurant and Bistro and we are located downtown in the Oliver Square district. Our chefs are classically trained and create dishes unique to South India’s coastal region, including Masala dosas, Idli and sambar, and Chettinadu style meats and seafood creations.

Indian cuisine is well known for its sophisticated and subtle use of spices, herbs and flavourings. Cuisine from Southern India is prepared spicier, and often includes rice and seafood options. Additionally, South Indian cuisine frequently uses unique ingredients like coconut, drumsticks, tamarind, curry leaves, hing and byadgi chillies, offering a very different set of flavors then traditional North Indian cuisine.

Bistro India was born from a passion to bring South Indian flavours to Edmonton’s dining scene.
