Bosscat Kitchen & Libations perfectly meshes upscale and casual dining with an expansive whiskey selection and unique offering of American comfort food. It offers high energy, open spaced concepts to promote a lively dining experience. With the rustic industrial aesthetic, brick metal and barrels are prevalent in the space. One of its best attractions is the famous whiskey room, that houses hundreds of whiskies from several countries. From high end whiskies like Pappy Van Winkle, to a shot of Jameson & Coors Light, there is something here for everyone's taste; and Bosscat prides itself on being this type of environment. New flavors and recipes are often brought into the kitchen. All cooks on staff are encouraged to brainstorm and eat with the executive chef, Peter Petro. This collaborative process is the foundation of their culinary art. Encouraging and fostering new ideas with seasonal produce, meats and spices fosters the fun and unique dining experience they so strongly emulate.

    🎀Bosscat Kitchen & Libations | Irvine + follow me @quinninomz for more foodie recs~ No, it’s not 2016… but somehow @bosscatkitchen still has brunch menu favorites under $20 🫣 Everything we ordered was SO good. The Blueberry Monster pancakes were fluffy, sweet, and loaded with blueberries without being too overwhelming. The buttermilk pancakes were classic, buttery, and honestly so comforting. We also got the steak & eggs, which was cooked perfectly medium rare and super satisfying, and the Holy Smoked Benedict was packed with flavor with the perfect smoky touch. And let’s talk about the $5 mimosas… such a steal 🍾 Between the delicious food, generous portions, fun brunch vibe, and friendly service, this spot is definitely worth checking out. If you get the chance to come here for brunch, you will not be disappointed!!     First time here. Really enjoyed the food and overall vibe! Appetizers and mains were the star here. I loved my fried chicken salad. Our group agreed that we would come back again.

    Food was mediocre and very pricey. Server was friendly. Could have come around more often than they did. Seriously, $12 for Bread! Won’t be coming back.

    It wasn’t busy and we had a reservation for our party of five. The hostesses were gracious, asking us if we’d like to be seated at their Library table, which was perfect - appropriately lit on the dimmer side, beautifully decorated with amusing Halloween pieces, including some artwork instantly recognizable as from nearby Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. Waitperson Tony was cordial and attentive, commenting positively on our drink and appetizer selections - an Old Fashioned, a gin drink called a Cat’s Claw, sweet bread and a pork belly dish called Pig Candy. Entrees ranged from Salmon, their self-described #1-chosen Beef Short Rib, a chicken salad and prime rib sandwich which looked like a robust cheesesteak. Everyone in my party said their choices were delicious, and my short rib was tender, tasty and well-complemented by mashed potatoes, cooked carrots and onion straws. I chose the place because I was dining with family and the restaurant occupied the former location of a liquor store where my late brother worked and managed for several years. With some decorations taken from the former liquor store, our dinner at Bosscat served an homage to my brother. I now live in Florida, but everyone at our table said they would return. Sorry, we didn’t take pictures.

    The food is always great, however our server, an older gentleman could not have been more rude. Rarely checked in on us, and when we did ask for anything he was irritated at us.

    It’s always a great experience at Bosscat and so pleasant and obvious to have servers who truly love their jobs. And the food is exceptional also!

    Unremarkable all around. We started by ordering cocktails and a few minutes later we ordered two appetizers for our table of 5. The appetizers had come, were consumed and we were still waiting for our three cocktails. The other other members of our party ordered fountain drinks. The burrata and heirloom tomato jam was watery but flavorful. No one in our party. Thought their entree was particularly exceptional. I had the sugar barrel steak, medium. The cowboy butter which was no more than garlic butter was overwhelming and masked any steak flavor. The seasoned green beans were overly seasoned and very salty. The space and ambiance is great. We love that they took over Rod's liquor and maintained a lot of the history. We're from Orange so we appreciate that but the food was unremarkable. You could save a few bucks and go to Lazy Dog and get a similar meal and probably get your drinks before your entrees. A note to Bosscat kitchens management: You know cocktails are fantastic margin for you. We would have ordered another round had we had any belief that they would have arrived before the check. Your bar is costing you money.

    Bizarre passive aggressive exchange with a server, not even ours. Food was mid, they don’t serve decaf coffee, most brunch items were out. It’s a very pleasing aesthetic in the heart of old town Orange but significantly lacking in service and food quality (and healthier menu options). Our exchange with the manager after this weird server encounter was thoughtful. With all the options surrounding the area I wouldn’t chose Bosscat nor do I plan to return.
