What is Baja Cuisine? It all started with coastal roadside taco stands in Baja Mexico. Surfers, searching for perfect waves, pulled off the road to grab fresh caught fish and local produce stuffed in a homemade tortilla. Known for a healthy approach focusing on bold flavorful ingredient, fresh seafood and local meats and veggies, the Baja style cuisine is a fusion of traditional Mexican with Mediterranean and Asian influences.

The service was fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious. Their shrimp quesadillas were packed with flavorful shrimp, and the steak quesadillas were equally scrumptious. We were lucky enough to secure a table on the side, which kept the noise level down compared to the main area. This place has become one of our favorite dining spots in the Balentyne area.

Had a great time. Friendly service, delicious cocktails, tasty food. Our waitress was efficient and made the experience fun. Everyone liked what they ordered. Favorite was the blackened fish taco... or maybe the ahi tuna taco. Both delicious. Looking forward to going back.

Our food was delicious! Our server was amazing! She took orders for 7 people. never wrote down and thing, and remembered and delivered all seven meals just as we ordered.

The food was amazing and the wait staff was nice. We made this reservation on open table but when we arrived they said they do not typically take reservations and we waited for over an hour on a table. Not sure I would make another reservation.

Table was not ready for 30 minutes after reservation time. It was Mothers Day so understood but still was not a plus to the experience

Made a lunch reservation via Open Table. Upon arriving we’re told this was an administrative error. They weren’t actually taking/accepting reservations. After wasting 45 minutes waiting we left and went to another restaurant.

Server was great but they had an issue with reservations causing us to wait roughly 30mins after our reservation to be seated.

What a fun evening! First time to eat at Cabo Fish Taco – Ballantyne; although we have loved the NoDa location for years. Overall, very enjoyable meal. Lively place yet not so loud as to prevent community and conversation at a table of six. In a sentence: Food was good, service was good, employees were very friendly and accommodating. Special “shout out” to the bartender – he spilled some of our beers in transport and promptly brought a “replacement” glass – now that will get my attention and appreciation every time! Among the six of us we had a wide variety of drinks and entrées and sides. Everything was freshly prepared, served immediately and enjoyed thoroughly. (I had the mahi mahi tacos, lightly blackened, with a side of refried beans – umm, tasty!) There is nothing that we would not recommend and there is nothing that we would not order again. Overall very good first visit! I would imagine we will eat there again --- soon.
