Great addition to Rittenhouse. The food was great, particularly the shortrib and the shakin' beef salad. Will be back

A disappointing first dining experience at this restaurant after waiting more than a month after its opening in hopes that any irregularities would be addressed. The spring roll appetizer portion was small, and the pate was underseasoned. The seafood boil had a murky taste, and its seasoning was definitely off. The majority of the the mussels were not opened. Those that were open were extremely chewy/inedible. The gnocchi dish was good but nothing special. While the pistachio bread pudding was tasty, the chocolate cake was very ordinary tasting (like a box cake) with its coffee ice cream having freezer burn. On a positive note, the server was very friendly and attentive-the only good part of the almost $200 birthday dinner (2 beers-no other drinks) which despite making a note in the open table reservation when asked if it was a special occasion was never acknowledged.

We had a wonderful dinner. The server gave us excellent recommendations--we were a group of 4, sharing everything-- and the food was easy to share and absolutely delicious. Great ambience too, will definitely be coming back again soon.

The presentation was very nice. The space is small. Able to have a conversation, however. Cost not inexpensive. I think the squash blossom was fantastic. The wine pairings may be better in the future when they liquor license becomes more liberal Some variable success with flavor execution

The only complaint we had was that the booth is very uncomfortable. It’s so narrow that you have to hold yourself up with your legs

Carolyn’s has very innovative food that blends Vietnamese and Cajun cuisine. The highlight of the meal was the whole fried branzino which had a cornmeal crust. Also recommend the rice pudding for dessert. Service was knowledgeable and efficient and Chef Carolyn came out at the end to talk with us. She is a delight.

So disappointing. To start, the noise level was over the top LOUD. The tables are scrunched together, so that you are totally a part of the people next to you conversation, many who are yelling to be heard. The spring rolls were good. My husband liked his chicken, nothing outstanding. The accompanying collards were good. I ordered the short rib, one of the most expensive entrees. It came out barely warm, the rice cold. It was flavorless. The waiter offered to send back to warm it. I declined. He offered another short rib be prepared. The noise level was giving me a headache at this point. He brought out the daikon fries to pacify, which were like eating mush. Hopefully Carolyn will read this and make some changes? Until then, we will not be back.
