   The food was excellent, we were greeted by our server Amy within 2 minutes of sitting down. I had the Chicken Tinga, amazing flavor. Really liked the jalapeno slices worked into the tortilla. Had a House Margarita which was very good too. Overall a great experience.

   Our food and service were great. From the start, I did like the additional flavors in the salsa served with chips. Attention to detail was used to develop flavors that isn’t ordinarily in Salsa which was a delicious surprise. The Crispy Carnitas were served with hot fresh flour tortillas, and a green salsa that was again freshly made with certain ingredients (not to be revealed) that complemented the dish perfectly. I was hoping to try one of those cakes I saw on Facebook but they are only available during certain days. There is a dessert menu you see, but the cakes look incredible. My next visit has to be during a day when they have their cake.

   Dinner first time here with 6 friends. We are picky Mexican food eaters and all meals were excellent! Service was speedy, very knowledgeable servers. Good drinks and Deserts. Highly recommend.

   After looking at the menu, we were looking forward to really good, elevated Mexican food. Unfortunately, pretty much everything we ordered was average to poor. The empanadas sounded good, but what arrived appeared to have been cooked days before, frozen and then reheated in the microwave. They were so limp and soggy that you couldn’t pick them up to eat them. The filling was flavorful, but way to much cheese, which made it kind of gloopy. The “Tijuana” Caesar salad was sad and not very flavorful. The “toasted vile de Arbil croutons tasted more like sweet brioche that was toasted with no added flavor. The biggest disappointment was the “la Reina” Marcos Molcajete. For $50, I expected much more that a few little shrimp, rubbery octopus slices and over cooked tiny scallops drowned by more excessively cheesy, gloopy, sauce. Even the rice was way overcooked and flavorless. Maybe they are still working the kinks out since opening, but there are many other places to get much better Mexican food. I’ll head to one of those places next time I want Mexican food.

    Got seated right away. Chips and salsa are complimentary. Service has been slow. Chips held us over until our dinner was served about 1/2 hour after ordered. Food was excellent. We had the molcajete. It was enough for 2 of us to share. Tip order your drink and food at the same tip, to avoid delays in getting your meal served faster.

    A bit underwhelming. Food was good, but couldn’t taste a difference between any of the food we ordered (enchiladas, mole, Birria tacos, carnitas, cauliflower tacos) and comparable items from other Mexican restaurants, such as in Old Town. Was very surprised they don’t offer any healthy bean option like whole black or whole pinto. Refried pinto beans are the only bean option, which seems to lack the class that this place is going for. We asked for a couple of taco toppings to be on the side, but one was left on and the other was omitted completely (no side). So, accuracy of orders needs a little work. Service was otherwise friendly and fairly attentive (minus no water refills). Overall, food is good and atmosphere is nice, but I don’t think we’ll be back frequently. It’s not different enough from other much less expensive San Diego Mexican fare.

    Service was outstanding, the overall ambiance and decor were beautiful and the food was delicious! We came during happy hour and had the best mock tails I’ve ever had! We shared the nachos which were amazing and the elote. The elote was good but maybe had a little too much lime and mayo, otherwise the flavor was great! Our waiter was attentive and professional and the atmosphere outside in the garden was perfect! Would absolutely recommend and return for dinner!

    First time dining at Casa Gabriela. We had a great experience! First, we had excellent service. David was very personable. He provided suggestions on cocktails, appetizers, and entrees and his suggestions were on point! The food: We started with the Jalapeño-Cilantro Tempura Cauliflower. Tasty bites of tempura cauliflower with a corn relish and drizzled with an aioli. Even if your not a fan of cauliflower, you should try it. Chips and salsa were served. Chips light & crunchy with a nice seasoning. Salsa nice flavor, not spicy. Entrees: Enchiladas Marisco Suiza was a huge hit. Shrimp, Lobster, scallops with garlic butter in a tomatillo jalepeno crema and Oaxaca cheese. What's not to like??! 1855 Angus Skirt Steak Tampiqueña. Tender skirt steak, Oaxaca enchilada, slices of panela a la plancha and a roasted pepper served with tortillas. Crispy carnitas, I didn't try, but was well liked by the empty platter. Each entree came with rice and beans (which were tasty) The cocktails: Margarita Sana, Cantarito, Como Una Flor, top shelf margarita, and Cazuela for All. All the cocktails were delicious, "an adventure". The Cazuela for All was a beautiful punch in a bowl and served 3-4 people. A very nice cocktail to share. We were too full to try any of the desserts. The restaurant had beautiful decor and plenty of seating. We sat inside in a booth. They had tables upstairs and on the patio. A definite must try!

    Most of the food is spicy. I know it's a Mexican restaurant but everything doesn't need to be spicy. A true Tijuana Cesar salad is not spicy.... I know my parents were friends with the person who invented it.

    Great music! The comment from the others I dined with was that their food was very “citrusy”. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The helping of Guac is very well sized. We even had some left over. Refreshing drinks, wonderful service. Desserts were amazing!

    The carne asada tacos were dry & without much flavor. 2 of my friends said their meal was just ok. One of my friends who ordered the vegetarian lasagna said it was wonderful. Service was great. Ambience was great. If the food was better I’d be back more often

    A beautiful patio with heaters to keep the temperature very comfortable. Service was timely, friendly, and attentive. The first time we were there the food had been excellent, this time it quite didn’t measure up. A little disappointing, considering the cost of the food items. The lasagna sounded interesting with layers of corn tortilla and vegetables, but came out looking like a saucer full of cheese fondue. The surf and turf burrito had muddled flavors, though the portion was large.

    I know the menu has gone through an evolution since the rebrand. Where it has landed today is mikes ahead of where they started. Wonderful selection, presentation, and quality. We absolutely loved our meal. The cocktails remain top flight as is the fantastic service. Wonderful dining experience. We will be back regularly.

    The service was terrible. It took an hour to get guacamole and chips. Luckily, the hostess noticed we were waiting and helped speed things along. Our waiter could have cared less. The food was just okay. The heaters outside were not very effective.

    We had a party of 12 at 8pm outside which was perfect for my girlfriend’s birthday. Server was great and attentive to us. The rest of the service is where it was rough. Took 20 mins plus to get drinks every time we would order a round. Then we walked up to the bar and there where 4-5 bartenders and 3 of them where cleaning bottles and other things, I mean we get it was latter in the evening but that should make it easier because the place was clearing out. Once we got our food ordered around 9 it came out fairly quick actually, but guessing because it was latter again. Only 1 mess up on a table of 12, so that was solid, food tasted great and the molcajete bowls where delicious! Just the service side failed and I know it wasn’t the servers fault we don’t feel because he was very appreciative and apologized on numerous different occasions on how slow it was. We will definitely be back and maybe with a smaller group we get better service.
