A prime example of modern Toronto’s commitment to its rich history, Casa Loma was first built in 1914 by financier Sir Henry Pellatt. The castle, located in midtown Toronto, is regarded as a treasured heritage landmark. Today, Casa Loma is one of Toronto’s top tourist attractions and hospitality venues. Each year over 650,000 visitors tour Casa Loma and the estate gardens. A perfect backdrop for special occasions, Casa Loma also plays host to over 300 private events annually. In addition, Casa Loma plays hosts to several annual productions including Legends of Horror, Holiday Lights and the successful summer series, Sunset Concerts, Symphony in the Gardens. The venue is also home to annual brunch events for Easter and High Tea Service for Mother's Day and Family Day weekend.

My family and I went for the high tea experience and were severely disappointed. Not only were we forced to wait 45 minutes, but we were the last ones seated and felt extremely rushed. There was no live music anymore because I assume the musician had been playing for long periods of time prior so they were too tired to play anymore. When the food arrived it was clear it had been premade and sitting for quite a while. It was ok. The desserts were fairly standard as well. I would say the price point was extremely high for what we received to be honest. $150 a person for some scones and food that had been sitting under a heat lamp for a few hours is not worth it. We were the last ones to leave and by the time it was all over they closed the castle so we couldn’t even experience viewing the entire building. Would not recommend for the price point.

I did not like the table in the corner. The view was of the wall. Not a good experience

Service was horrible. Waited 25 mins before someone even came over to our table and greeted us after we got seated.

Was expecting to sit in the main dining area as we were seated in the library! We were a party of 2 but that shouldn’t have mattered! Was expecting more of a bridgerton theme. Service was good Overall too pricey for what we got.

We were really excited to be here for Mothers Day high tea. Unfortunately we were not seated in the atrium or the library but in a restaurant. It was nice but didn’t feel like we were in Casa Loma. It wasn’t what we were expecting. As some people mentioned some of the food was stale. For the price I expected a more elevated experience. The gardens were closed due to renovations so we didn’t get to explore as much as had hoped.

We had a wonderful experience for Mother's Day High Tea. The event was well organized, and we were seated right on time. The service was also excellent; each server who came to our table was friendly, engaging, and helpful. The complimentary mimosas were a nice touch, although I would have liked a few more selections of the teas that were offered. The food was also amazing, the selection of sandwiches was very flavourful, and the scones were delicious. We were too full to eat the sweets, so they packed them up for us to take home. We ended our meal with a refreshing lemon sorbet. The ambiance was elegant, and the roaming violinist added to the atmosphere. Overall, a great experience.

Great afternoon tea experience! Delicious food, especially the savoury selection. Thank you to our servers Danica and Samir for their gracious hospitality. Our family had a great Mother’s Day Celebration!

Easter Sunday Brunch was very disappointing. It was chaotic and disorganized. Staff was incompetent and inexperienced. Food was second rate at best and very poorly displayed. All in all not a pleasant experience and will not be returning.

Food quality was poor—much of it stale or inedible—and items were not replenished when they ran out. Not all hot stations were replenished. At one station, a staff member replenished hot food with gloved hands after carrying equipment, raising clear hygiene concerns. She was unable to lift hot pan and just exchange it. The coffee was undrinkable, and no alternative was offered because it all comes from "a large machine." Seating was disorganized, with staff unable to manage occupied tables. Desserts were low quality and stale. After a 45-minute wait at the carving station, the beef was gone by the time line up finished. The charcuterie boards were mostly empty and not replenished and choices were poor. Staff appeared inexperienced and unprepared for an event of this scale. Most people at the brunch were just complaining. I did complain in writing and not even courtesy to acknowledge.

This was the worst Easter brunch experience that we have ever had. We showed up for a 3pm reservation and were turned away from the line as they were running behind. When we finally checked in and were seated, we waited at least 15 minutes to be welcomed, provided with water , and asked if we would like a drink. From there the experience rapidly deteriorated. The food was picked over--items were replenished sporadically and one at a time. The pasta was mushy, the salad and dessert bars were so sparse, when the roast beef came out finally--it was gone before the line ended. It looked like we had come just before close and scraps remained in every section. At $120 pp (incl tax/tip) this is by far the worst value for money that I can recall in a restaurant in a very long time. Not only would I never return--I would never recommend anyone host a wedding or other function here. Theoretically it should have been so much better than a restaurant or hotel that does not have a dedicated catering operation. It was so poorly managed in every way. I will never return--not to visit the castle, its restaurant, or for any special occasion involving its catering department. Such a disappointing way to celebrate an important holiday. Don't waste your money here.
