   Bathroom was a mess and was not cleaned up, had to let staff know about it. You could smell the bathroom mess from before entering the bathroom area. Was also charged for churros that I never received and they still have not reimbursed me for that. Was also over looked as I was a table of 3 and seemed they were more concerned with the other larger party there which I understand but we had to call upon the waiter multiple times to get seated, water, menus, refills and for the check.

   You come here for the delicious food (the Bokit was the best breakfast sandwich I’ve every had) & the ‘instagramable’ memories. The place is beautiful & well maintained, plus make for some fun Instagram pictures. The customer service was not good at all. I’d still go back for the food, but our waiter was very unfriendly.

   A lot of reviews I read on the website were really bad so I was so scared I was going to have the same experience. Luckily it did not take long for us to get seated. It did take a while did the food and drinks to come but not that long to the point where we felt they were lagging on it. We had brunch and it was delicious- thankfully we got a nice server and it was noisy but not annoyingly loud. Did take awhile though for them to come back around to our table just to order more or get the check. Our reservation was in the morning 1hr after opening time and it was already packed and super busy- I’d probably avoid lunch or dinner at this place if you still want good service. They didn’t have prices on their menu online or outside- it is pricyyyy especially for the drinks- they’re definitely selling for the aesthetic. Even with a small party expect to spend over 200 bucks. Good experience overall will definitely come again maybe during opening time next time

   Coco maya is an amazing place to grab some drinks and food. But this last time we were greeted with a server named Lindsey. She made us feel very unwelcomed. My party and I observed her with other tables and she was very friendly and attentive. But for some reason with our table she was short and rude. I hate to even mention this but we were the only people of color in the restaurant at the time so it made us feel as if we didn't belong. We spent good money and did not tip her. Hopefully she learns she treat everyone equally.

    Party of 8 on Presidents Day. Easy to make rsvp. They didn't automatically charge 20% gratuity like most places do for a party of this size. Everything we ordered was superb! Service was exceptional, Shawn was our waiter (he was new) and he made excellent recommendations on drinks and food selection. We opt'd for the "Taste of Coco Maya" that included 24 oz bone in rib-eye, whole fish, jerk octopus, caribe Caesar salad, coconut shrimp and coconut rice for $200. It was more than enough for us! We also ordered Jerk Chicken and Gnocci, Fried on Shrooms, and side of potato tostones. Definitely recommend!

    Super pretentious service. We arrived to a completely empty restaurant and the hostess told us there was a 90 min limit on the table. Absolutely laughable. The place was so dead that we hoped the food would carry it through. Unfortunately the menu had limited options so that didn’t happed. Perhaps if they focused on service, food and experience instead of wanting their instagram wall to make up for everything that was lacking, they’d actually have customers.

    Brunch food was underwhelming, my chilaquiles were very dry for my preference. But the vibe and the energy made up for it. Wonderfull staff, beautiful entertainment. They had dancers and live DJ. Mimosa bar was great. Overall great time and atmosphere.

    We attempted to go there for my birthday. The service was SO bad we left before even having anything. The downstairs hostess is super nice e polite. Once we went update everything changed very quickly. The upstairs hostess wasn’t just bad, she was plain rude. Took us to the outdoor area threw the menus at a small table and left. Didn’t say anything! The table was too small, for drinks only, definitely not for 3 people to have a meal. It was uncomfortably cold, when we said we were leaving, as I most certainly didn’t want to feel uncomfortably cold and be treated like they were doing me a favor, on my birthday, they said they would move us inside . That never happened. The manager was very unprepared. Definitely a beautiful place, for people who like to see and be seen and don’t care for the quality of the service. I can’t say anything about the food or the drinks, but the service was absolutely awful!

    We came here for a bachelorette party and the vibes were immaculate thanks to the amazing staff! From Ian the host, Prina our waitress and Tash the owner/ manager - everyone was so sweet and accommodating and made our time sooo fun!

    My guess and I walked out after we ask for our waiter to bring us water twice. Never was greeted from any of the wait staff for the first 15 minutes when we sat down.

    I had reservations at 1:00pm. Upon arrival I was notified that the restaurant had over booked. My friends and I were seated at 1:40pm. The girl taking our order was not friendly at all. She was rushed to take our order. When our food was served 3 of the 6 plates were given to us. With no utensils and no time to ask for them because of how rushed they were. Ten minutes later all the plates were given to us. Again no utensils. Our food was sitting for now 20 minutes and no server to attend us. One of the entrees were incorrectly served. My friend had asked for the berry toast was given smores (chocolate and graham crackers). The order was put in correctly into the kitchen for some reason they brought her out the wrong one. Overall terrible experience for what we paid for it made all of us even more upset.

    Food was tasty…had the octopus and filet. Just a note that the jerk items are spicy. Drinks were creative but not all tasty. Ambiance is nice but the open air in the winter doesn’t work. SD gets cold when the sun goes down. Had to wear my jacket the whole time and my hands were still cold. Need many more heat lamps. Will be nice when spring comes. High tables are a very small dining space and the stools are hard and don’t have backs which doesn’t make for a comfortable experience. Service was good.

    First off shout out to our waitress Lindsey. She seemed quite seasoned, efficient, and really, just very pleasant. The four of us arrived for our reservation on time, the hostess seated us immediately, and at a pretty nice table. The decor is really not much to write home about in my opinion. Very south beach, but sort of thrown together looking. Pink neon and palm trees everywhere. Cocktails were decent, but loaded with ice, portions were small, but fairly tasty. The downside was that one of our entrées never arrived. That, coupled with our small portion size made it so that our party ended up at a taco shop later that night. We were still pretty hungry after dinner. As if one of our meals not arriving wasn’t enough, when we went to the bathroom, there was a man in the hallway who was very high on drugs. It ended up being that the man had overdose on ketamine. The management team apparently had to all leave the floor in order to deal with this crisis, which backed up some of the wait staff issues as well. According to some of the wait staff this is not the first time does it happened. Paramedics had to be called. I wouldn’t go back necessarily. It would’ve been really disappointing if this was for a special occasion rather than a very casual get together with a couple of friends.

    Beautiful decor! Service is amazing! Our waiter Joe was outstanding! And we definitely enjoyed our drinks!! We came when they offered their seasonal holiday drinks and they were delicious!! Will be coming back for more! This time we didn’t order any food but the menu looked great!

    We made reservations for the New Years experience. Truly the worst NYE experience. Clearly the staff was not prepared for this type of service. 1. Staff were frantic with little to no communication among themselves. 2. When we got to our table, we waited for a long time to get our drinks. It was quicker for myself to go straight to the bar to get what we needed and bring back to our table. 3. Even then being at the bar, the bar tender that serviced me was great. However, I see other bar tenders on the phone taking pictures, causally standing talking (one flirting) to the guests. The crowd around me were getting frustrated on how slow the service was. 4. When it was time to leave. One of the staff shouted “get the f*ck out* truly disrespectful. Even when I needed to use the restroom. Treated with the most disrespect. Their brunch day services is wonderful. However their new years service was disappointing, unprofessional, and disgusting.

    Coco maya was extremely disappointing. They didn’t honor our open table reservations. They went from telling us they confirmed our reservation to saying they have it but a small 10-20 min wait to then saying will have one shortly to just never having one for us. We were a large party and the place isn’t super big so they just couldn’t accommodate us. I would say do not trust open table reservations with this place. Don’t book on more popular days for dinner (they had standing space and seemed to prioritize drinks). Don’t go here for large parties either unless maybe you confirm with Mauricio, one of the guys in charge. It seemed there were some that booked with him and got their tables before us which was very unfair. They seemed overwhelmed or just didn’t know what to do since all the tables were full and kept telling groups to stand by the bar but then never checking in on us for updates on dinner reservations. The shift manager never came out either until an hour later from our reservation we were getting impatient and asked for assistance but she couldn’t help us or offer any solutions. I understand if you’re busy but don’t give false information about being able to seat us shortly if you couldn’t because we could’ve just found somewhere else to go if you’re overbooked. Don’t tell us to drink at the bar on an empty stomach. If people aren’t leaving their tables have someone in charge come out to move people around. If people are hungry offer them food at the bar. There was just no leadership to handle difficult situations at this place appropriately.

    I have been to Coco Maya 2 times. The first experience was hospitable as the food and drinks were decent and loved the tropical vibe/decor. We went on a Thurs so it wasn't crazy busy. That's why we chose to go to Coco Maya for the NYE celebration (which was my second and LAST VISIT to this establishment). --- Here are the list of things that went WRONG: **$$ (upcharge day of event) = When we arrived on time for our opentable 9pm reservation, it was very chaotic. The staff were confused on the appropriate pricing for the prix fixe menu, drinks, and open bar bracelet option. We were told on the phone we could just add $50 to have drinks included as we are doing the prix fixe dinner $99 -- BUT onsite they changed the pricing and upped the charge to $199. **seating time (or lack of) = Even with a valid reservation, we were immediately told that there will be a 30min wait. From being there at 9pm, we were NEVER seated and eventually left close to 10:30pm. There was no check-in to members in our party from staff to reassure they are working on our table. We had to individually move through the crowds to get to the front desk multiple times to get information if we will still get seated and figure out what were the issues. What we gathered is that there were several groups who bought bottle-service so these individuals (NO MATTER what time their reservation was or if all of their party was there) were seated FIRST. As we left, we overheard that they had to stop dinner service b/c they have accepted more reservations than they had intended for that night. **customer service (or lack of) = no sympathy/compensation for the inability to honor our reservation. It would be at least fair to have been honest and told our party that they may not be able to accommodate us earlier in the evening so at least we could find another place to eat and celebrate the NYE. In the end some of us had to pay high uber charges back home in the rain with no food. WORSE EXPERIENCE!

    Our server wasn’t very attentive. The scallops were really good. We definitely would have ordered more food if our server would have checked on us more regularly but we didn’t want to risk waiting for forever for food.

    We are super foodies and appreciate a good cocktail so we were super excited to try out this place. To say it was a disappointment is an understatement. The food served is not as it is presented on the menu: the sauce on the scallops is spicy af, the mushroom dish is not tasty and we had to send it back, and many of the dishes are overpriced. However, the most shocking is that the potato “tostones” (if you Google a tostone you will be disappointed in what you receive) and the churros are cooked in the same fryer. The potatoes taste like churros (cinnamon) and the churros taste like potatoes. The strawberry salad was very good albeit slightly overdressed. The steak was perfectly cooked and the jus was delectable. Worse than the food is the atmosphere. A group of management/investors sat across the bar from us clearly intoxicated, entertaining a loud and obnoxious crowd while going behind the bar only to serve everyone shots. The cherry on top was the vaping indoor which is not only illegal but not tasty in combination with my actually enjoyable cocktail (shoutout to the Side Piece). On the positive side, our bartender Lucas was very kind and attentive even though the bar was understaffed, the bar back was stellar, and the cocktails are creative and enjoyable. -The Caribe Welcome is a nice tiki-esque cocktail served in a fresh coconut - slightly on the sweeter side, refreshing and very nice and coconutty. -The Side Piece is watermelon forward and delicious with the Mezcal complimenting rather than overpowering. -The Tiger Uppercut was good—smokier than expected and quiet salty. We only noticed after that it contains Leche de Tigre - if it is indeed Leche de Tigre, it is worth noting on the menu that this drink contains seafood! -The Gring Groni was very nice - sweeter than a Negroni for sure, but the flavors or coconut and banana are very pronounced and really nice if you enjoy those flavors.
