When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots.

We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum of 28 days for a perfectly tender, juicy bite every time.

It is our goal to give you a great meal every time you join us for lunch or dinner.

This is hands down the best dining experience in Dallas! You never touch a door handle or seat back and are greeted by a friendly team of hosts upon arrival. The wine list written by Brandon Smoot is intentional and offers the guest the immersive experience of vintaged wine. K ensured everything went perfectly. He had excellent timing and we never had to think about needing anything during the meal. We must have had about 6 servers otherwise offer assistance if they saw anything was needed which doesn’t happen anywhere. The dinner was delicious and perfectly prepared by the chef and team.

Nicely designed restaurant with a varied menu and steakhouse side dishes. If you can believe this, there is no baked potato offered. My rating of three is that all the steaks were served lukewarm. We decided not to send them back to only get overcooked steaks. I would give it one more try, but make sure you emphasize you want your steaks served HOT! BTW, the service was exceptional.

Amazing experience and the service is top notch! We had Brian as our waiter. He was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. We started with the crab cake pops and beef dumplings. Both we delicious! Then majority of the group got the beef Wellington since it was available still. One of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Then we had seating by the waterfall. Everything was incredible! Highly recommend

Dakota's Steakhouse is a wonderful place to celebrate your birthday! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant to the time we left, I felt like a celebrity! The manager, Ki and server, Brian welcomed us with hugs and birthday wishes as we walked through the crowded restaurant. Our usual table, the secluded, luxurious red curtained booth, was decorated with red roses. Alejandra, our favorite server for over a decade now, instantly brought me champagne as soon as we sat down. Alejandra has a warm and genuine personality. We love hearing about her life and the wonderful places she travels. She knows our taste so well that we don’t need to order off the menu. She likes to introduce us to the wonderful new appetizers and desserts. Our food is always amazing at Dakota’s!!! The Sommelier, Brandon Smoot, is extremely knowledgeable about his wine selection (basically in all wines in general). Our family really enjoys the wine education we get every time we go to dinner at Dakota’s. Brandon is always happy to bring us our favorite wines, but he also enjoys introducing us to special wines in his collection. Tonight was no different. Our wine selection was amazing with our filet and lamb dinners. To top the night off, the manager, Drake always makes time to come see how our night is going and make sure we have everything we need. Manager, Ki has been known to bring us a new appetizer, to make out dinner experience extra special. We never leave Dakota’s needing anything, especially, not hungry. Dakota’s is by far, one of the best places to celebrate a special occasion!!! Thank you!

This place was great. From the private elevator leading to the steakhouse underneath, to the amazing service and staff, to the 5 star food; this is a must try if you are in Dallas! My husband and I were enjoying a kid free date night and our server, Jeremy was excellent. We dined and chose the 4 course tasting menu! Everything we ate was 5 star delicious, but we really loved the tater tots, the wagu fried rice, and the tirmasu cheesecake!! All in all, we felt very cared for and the food was DELICIOUS!

The service and atmosphere was impeccable! I went as Solo Date and was not disappointed. Only advice I would offer. if you order the steaks, ask for Medium Rare. I like mines Medium Plus and it came out a bit overcooked. It was still an amazing steak!
